Name: Russell Wieand
Nickname: "Coneman", "Grumpy" and "Rock-Killer" and others as well.
Random Fact: Leaves "Russ droppings" (cones) around the track. He also washes them regularly, just ask him.
Bio: I was "Pit-B*tch" for my brother, Jeff, during his racing career(s) during the 1990's and again in 2003. I was volunteered to corner work in 2003 and after that experience was hooked. I let my brother know that I was retiring as his "Pit-Bitch" and getting involved with the club. I corner worked in various corners, but fell in love with T9 in Seattle and the ability to interact with the racers, upon exiting the track, while performing my duties. Corner worked T9 in Seattle for three years.
I was Track-Crossing in Spokane from 2004-2006 and have some wild stories to tell about that. Just ask.
I am responsible for setting up the track for race events and utilizing the hardest working bunch of volunteers at the track, to keep the racing action happening by cleaning up the racing surface after incidents that necessitate my crews speedy responses. I am also responsible for all of WMRRA's race equipment, other than radio's, that is required for race day events.
I am also the Air Fence Coordinator which means that I have to schedule the set-up, tear-down and repair of the Air Fence modules for WMRRA events as well as track days that rent our Airfence.
