General Membership Meeting Minutes March 23rd, 2011 Secretary- Erin Gua - Next General Membership Meeting will be Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 7:30pm at Round Table in Redmond. Room is reserved at 7:00 pm in order for attendees to come eat dinner beforehand. Nico Tomacelli will keep the increased frequency of general membership meetings as long as we keep having regularly increasing attendance. Treasurer- Marcea Kato - Bank balances were reported. - Registrations will be processed from the 1st track day during this week. - We are still owed money from track day organizations for airfence rental. - We're making expense and stipends cuts to cut overall costs. - Wristbands will be used to track who has paid gate entry during race weekends. Riders will hold up their wrist as they go by on the right on Sundays if they pay for their gate fees for both days on Saturday. 1st VP- Tim Weig - The 1st Annual WMRRA Kickoff party was great! Thanks to Jeff Wieand and Downtown Harley-Davidson Renton for putting that together! - We have a lot of corner workers for Taste of Racing (TOR). Will not be doing TOR if the track is wet at all. Riders will sign a liability waiver at gate. They will pay $20 at Registration, Katie or Erin will hand them a blank tech sticker, they will meet up at track exit before lunch starts, TOR staff will tech bikes & write group numbers on the tech stickers. - Vintage guys are having a bike show in Ballard on a monthly basis starting in April. - E-newsletter was posted at the beginning of last week. - South Sound BMW will put on a fundraiser on April 9th from 6-8pm. - Mike Sullivan Racing School and 2Fast Motorcycle Racing School & Instruction will both allow a WMRRA booth at their track days. We need volunteers to man these! The track day schedules are posted on www.2-fast.org & www.sullivanraceschool.com. Check the rulebook on wmrra.com to see the change. - Check wmrra.com to see the new race day schedule! - Registration will open at 6:45am for the 2011 season, and the Riders' Meetings will be held at 8:00am. This shift in the schedule is so that the riders (especially the novices) will have more time to register and prepare themselves before practice begins at 9:00am. 3rd VP- Katie Field - Thank you Michael Klotz for stepping up to be scorer! - If a grid change or addition needs to be done after the grids are already posted, it will cost the rider a $30 post-entry fee. President- Nico Tomacelli - Turn 2 has been altered. PR's eventual plan is to level Turn 2 off more and extend the run off. - Jeff, Mark and Damon went out to Spokane. It's not safe to run counter clockwise. We are possibly going to run it in the clockwise direction. - Ridge Motorsports Park-hearing on April 6th at 10am there, everyone that can should come! - We need to be more respectful when overnight camping for the 2011 season at PR; a select few riders who were too rowdy on their pit bikes in 2010 almost ruined it for everyone. We need to be more respectful of PR's wishes this season. - See rulebook online wmrra.com for section E rule change on number plates. Airfence Committee- Russ Wieand - Not present. No report. Novice Rep- Mark DeGross - 11 novices attended the NRS in Eastern WA. - 31 novices attended the NRS in Western WA. - If you would like to be a mentor to a novice contact Mark. Supersport Rep- Eric Featherstone - Not present. - If riders have any questions they need go to their rider rep. The referee will only be the final say if there's a problem with the rider rep's decision. Superbike Rep- Damon Wells - If riders have any questions they need go to their rider rep. The referee will only be the final say if there's a problem with the rider rep's decision. Vintage Rep- Duncan Craick - Vintage day is Saturday, August 14th! Good of WMRRA - Cameras need to be hardwired to the bike. Tech Inspection will verify this. - Thanks to the race day staff for taking stipend hits to benefit the club! - I-405 in both directions will be closed between SR-520 and 8th St in Bellevue from April 1st-4th, so make sure you leave enough time for yourself in the morning to make it to the track before registration and tech inspection closes at 8:00! - Black and blue WMRRA t-shirts are still for sale for $15.00 each.
