Executive Board Meeting Minutes January 13, 2010 Secretary- Monica Wallace - Rulebook draft submitted to Nico for approval. - Next General Membership scheduled for January 20th at 7pm. Roundtable in Redmond. Treasurer- Joan Inge - Bank balance reported - Outstanding membership registrations submitted by Katie today and will be processed shortly. - Airfence balance and accounts receivable reported. - $1,000 approved to Rick Perreault for injured rider. - Outstanding CPA bill that is going to be due will be reflected in next month’s bank balance. 1st VP- Mike Tobin - First newsletter went out for 2010. - IMS Show December was a success. Thank you to all of the volunteers. - Spokane motorcycle show is being headed by Inland Speed and Curt Johnson. Nico is going to head to Spokane to assist. - Sponsors – Tobin is working with new and existing sponsors. Program will not be significantly changed from last year. - Tobin is trying to get additional press by contacting Seattle Times to see if they will publish results. - Jake Frame suggested non mainstream papers like The Stranger. - Upon membership registration deadline Monica will create a list for email and addresses for club correspondence such as newsletter. 2nd VP- Jeff Wieand - Rules committee – WMRRA Executive Board appreciates ridership input and is listening to the membership. Proposal from Jeff Wieand to reconvene Rules Committee with present members of the Rules Committee to reconsider Rules Proposal #13. Section Q.5.a.II "Up to 748cc four-stroke liquid cooled twins.” For: None present Against: Jeff W, Joan, Mike M, Ross, Nico, Jake, Tobin, Allister, Monica Abstain: Katie, Duncan Not Present: Phil, Russ, Claud FAILED Rule will remain in 2009 form. - Tentative race format schedule is set Round 1 Sprint Races Round 2 Sprints/SuperTeams Round 3 Sprints/Karts Round 4 Sprint Races/Stunts Round 5 Sprints/Sidecars/Endurance Round 6 Sprints/SOTP/Stunts Round 7 Sprint Races/Stunts Round 8 Sprints/SuperTeams/Endurance - SuperTeams--minimum 10 pre-registered teams to occur. - Endurance-4 or 6 hour TBD. Minimum 10 pre-registered teams to occur. - Karts-600cc motorcycle engined karts using R6 and GXSR engines. Eddie Lawson will be racing. Maybe even Wayne Rainey!! There will be two rounds of karts. 2nd date TBD.(awaiting word back from Eddie) Karts schedule and fees for May 29 and 30 are $160 for weekend. Includes 1 20-minute race each day, 2 practice on Saturday and 1 practice on Sunday. - Sidecars-tentatively scheduled for two rounds. 2nd round TBD.(awaiting word back from SRA) - Stunts-stunters from the area competing in a three round format at lunch for prize $$$. More info to come. - Taste of Racing – At this point there are no members that have offered to organize. If a member will commit to coordinating the program, Jeff will consider bringing back the programs. Concern is tech of bikes, on-site safety, corner workers (other than the race day staff)and safety gear. - Proposed budget submitted to the E Board. - Practice times – Considering having cut-off for practice times for group assignments. Possible to assign groups at registration based on lap times from previous rounds. Will continue to discuss. - Contingency programs are starting to be submitted to Angie Westre for the 2010 season from manufacturers. Details will be posted on the website upon receipt - Bill and Debbie Hallinger have indicated they will return as the starters for 2010 season. 3rd VP- Katie Field - Memberships are coming in for 2010 and she will continue to process. President- Nico Tomacelli - Race fees are still being researched and discussed. Fees have not been raised since 2007 due to the weak economy. Fees will be further discussed and finalized during February E-board meeting. Proposed fees will be mentioned during membership meeting next week. Finalized fees will be published in the newsletter, forum, and mailing list after the February E-board meeting. - Pacific Raceways – Allister is assisting Nico in renegotiating track rentals to help cut costs. Meeting with the management of Pacific soon to discuss. Airfence Committee- Nico Tomacelli - Airfence repairs and replacement as funds available for 2010 season. - Outstanding airfence balance will be followed up on by Nico to get payments ASAP. - Thank you to Dave Lanigan with Speeddealer Motors for throwing a party and raffle at Smarty Pants on December 11th. The raffle raised $316 which will all be donated to the airfence fund. Also, a special thanks to NESBA, Ducati Seattle, Inland Speed, Eastside Motosports and Aurora Suzuki for donating prizes for donating track days and merchandise for the prizes. Novice Rep- Jake Frame - Finalizing dates for classroom. - Working with Katie to get the novice lists. Supersport Rep- Ross Delong - No report Superbike Rep- Mike MacConaghy - No report Vintage Rep- Duncan Craick - OMRRA Vintage races are scheduled for the June 26 & 27 round. - WMRRA SOTP is scheduled for the August 14 & 15 round. Good of WMRRA - Discussion of Novice and possible Sportsman Class. TABLED - Discussion of practice session lap times cut off ranges and automation of assignment of practice groups.
