Executive Board Meeting Minutes May 14, 2008 Secretary- Debbie Hallanger -No change to membership meeting location, still open to suggestions. Treasurer- Joan Inge -Bank, Airfence Fund, Injured Rider Fund, and Round 2 gate numbers reported. -Reminder: race winnings and refunds are not processed until scoring is finalized, which did not happen until May 13. -If the gate is unlocked before 7 am, this is NOT an invitation to enter the pits. Please be responsible for waiting until the track is open at 7 am, then pay or show your pass, and sign the waiver. 1st VP- Mike Tobin -New posters will be available at Round 3. -Twin-Line will sponsor all the vintage classes. The prize is dyno time for the class winners. -A press release went to RoadRacing World and was published in the June issue summarizing Round 2. -A budget will be put together to get radio time and newspaper ads for the August 9th SOTP event. -Request to allocate 4500 for radio ads to promote Aug 10th Superbike Shootout and SOTP. Nico proposes we allocate the money for Mike to purchase advertisements, and Ariana has seconded. Proposal passes: For: Bill, Nico, Mike, Ariana, Debbie; Against: None; Abstain: Joan -We have new apparel for sale at registration including Under Armour products. 2nd VP- Bill Hallanger -Bill outlines the Tech Inspector's procedure for training the techs for the board to review. The techs will have morning meetings to address any issues. Suggestions from a board member that there should always be someone at the tech tent until at least 9:30am. Bill will pass this onto Phil. Feel free to email Phil if you have any suggestions. -Discussion on red flag incident where crash truck was released when there was still bikes moving. -Budget presented to purchase two additional headsets and one mic. Budget passes unanimously. -Chris Denzler asks for a class wave change. To move LW Early GP to run behind the LW Superbike, in the same wave. The board and race director agrees this is acceptable and will be implemented at Round 3. 3rd VP- Ariana Burgess -There were quite a few transponders dropped during the weekend at Round 2. The problem was improved at the antenna. This was the cause of the results being posted late. Chris Burgess suggests we use the old software at Round 3 and ask Jackie Hallstrom to substitute, since the Burgesses will not be present. They will be contacting our AMB representative to see if there is a software fix for our current issues. -Board approves Travis Ohge to obtain a WMRRA expert license. -For Round 3, all but Yamaha has changed this weekend as a contingency pay. -The June weekend will NOT count towards the PNW EDR Challenge. -The board has agreed to implement a class registration cut-off time of two hours before a race will run. President- Allister MacKinnon -Warning process for schedule changes is working well. -Vendor row worked well, but team row may change. -Thanks Mike for doing such a great job. -No schedule changes for June. -The incident with the start of the 600 SBK is explained to the board, apologies to all from your start team. We have dealt with this and feel confident we will be consistent in the future. -Hot pit wall access needs to be limited to two people per team. -Professional racing subsidies have been requested by Josh Ellingson ($250 for one race) and Lash Mullen ($500 for two races). Board votes to grant the money; For: Bill, Mike, Ariana, Debbie, Nico; Against: Joan; Abstain: None -Allister checks in with the race staff for any requests. -Discussion on noise levels at vintage-ville. -In correspondence with Spokane Raceway Park. They are answering the phone and responding to emails. We have talked to a candidate for track manager who is managing temporarily. They plan to be open July 1st. The manager has indicated that the rent will increase, but we will negotiate. We have informed them of dates that we have had in the past. Airfence Committee -Two new covers for AF have been purchased, although the price has increased drastically. We will continue to repair others and avoid purchasing new ones until we can find a new vendor. -Chris Denzler has stepped up for Airfence committee chair. Chris asks Bill Hallanger and Brad Gua to join the committee. Novice Rep- Nico Tomacelli -June 8 NRS classroom session at RMC at noon. Supersport Rep- Ross Delong -Not present -No report Superbike Rep- Brad Gua -Not present -No report Vintage Rep- Duncan Craick -Not present -No report Good of WMRRA -We will have our annual people and pet food drive June 14-15 race weekend. -Jeff Wieand is investigating two-up rides at lunch with sponsored bikes and expert racers. -Danny Lippis broke his shoulder and ankle.
