Executive Board Meeting Minutes Sept. 12, 2007 Secretary- Debbie Hallanger -There were 111 votes total with 20 on paper. Treasurer- Joan Inge -Account balances reported. -Injured Rider fund reported. -Gate attendance for Round 7 at Spokane: 316 for Saturday and 186 for Sunday. 1st VP- Andre Lister -Welcome Laura Carpenter. -Ideas for IMS and hand off of information discussed. -Contact Laura to volunteer for the IMS. 2nd VP- Bill Hallanger -Race day staff was briefed about track day protocols as suggested by the executive board. -Discussion on race bike vandalism at Spokane event. RD addressed concerns at the rider's meeting. -Reminder to all racers that you are responsible for the people in your pit and can suffer consequences for their actions. -Photographer's waiver and rules to be signed has been drafted and presented to the executive board. A suggestion was raised to add a vest marking with numbers for on track identification. -There are currently 41 rule proposals. -Number plates for visiting racers need to be enforced. The Board agrees that correct race numbers on bikes will be enforced in future events. If you are an out of town racer and have not been using the correct WMRRA assigned number for racing, you will now be asked to correct this before racing. -Starters have asked that the grid printouts for 3 second wave races be more closely monitored for uniformity. This will avoid any discrepancies between the copies at Registration, Pit Gate and Starters. The board agrees that Pit Gate is the final word for your grid position. -We are seeking a new logo for next year's rulebook without the year embedded. 3rd VP- Brent Hallstrom -Welcome Ariana Burgess. -Round 7 had no scoring issues. -Trophies were handed out and will continue to be available at registration. -SOTP trophies are available and marked with the racer's name for easy pickup at registration. -Banquet discussion and information handed to Ariana. -Online registration, payment and refunds is being updated during the off season and should make next year's sign up smoother. -Scoring team needed. President- Allister MacKinnon -Welcome new members. -With the rules committee coming up soon, the AMA rule book is being reviewed so we are sure we can cover other ideas. -A novice committee is being convened to create a protocol for outlining NRC and its transfer to an outside organization. A curriculum is being created by Denzler and will be reviewed by the board. -Allister's list of action items for the year: --Novice program improvements. --Changes to the By Laws and clean up to be presented to the BoD. --Air fence protocol to be drafted and in place before next season. -New tire wall at PR for the outside of turn10 concrete wall have been promised by track. We will be blocking off the area from spectators. -Air Fence coordinator and course marshal would like to place 2 or 3 spare air bails in the bus stop exit. The board discussed the pros and cons. Solution will be worked out by race day staff. -No firm word on SRP existence for next year. -Discussion on rowdy behavior in Spokane and observations raised. -Congrats to Ross for the track record at PR and SRP. Novice Rep- Chris Denzler -Welcome Nico Tomacelli. -NRC classroom and track sessions are canceled. We will still have the sessions at the beginning of next year. Air Fence- Chris Denzler -New straps to prevent rotation of bails where designed by Chris and manufactured for us. We will end up with 60 extra to re-sell and have plenty of extra on hand. -Air bails were rented and deployed to Red Bull Derby in Fremont. We will make $300 off of this. -If you have a WMRRA banner, please contact your rep and return it. Supersport Rep- Nico Tomacelli -Welcome Ross DeLong. -2 racers are seeking support for AMA event at Laguna: Josh Ellingson and Jim Pitman have each been approved money and will be required to hang the club banner. -Josh Nguyun has petitioned the Injured Rider Fund: Board approves. Superbike Rep- Jeff Webber -Welcome Brad Gua. -Not present -No report Vintage Rep- Duncan Craick -Registration and grid for Spokane was sorted out quickly with help from everyone. -A number of California riders participated this weekend. -15-20 vintage riders raced at Miller. -Tom Miller raced at the Bonneville salt flats, and went 158, breaking the record.
