    Default Oil Filters

    2 quick questions:

I thought I saw a notice after the last round about a new rule for the use of OEM only oil filters. I cannot find the notice in the forum, and was curious if this the new requirement for all bikes, specific bikes or just a rumor?

I have been using K&N filters on my R6 for years, and enjoy having the ability to safety wire them easily, how does one safety wire an OEM with no nut on the end, just wrap a strand around the base?

    Thanks!

    Here's the thread: http://www.wmrra.com/forums/showthre...mean-for-WMRRA

To secure it, use a hose clamp and tighten it down. Then safety wire the hose clamp to a non-movable part.

Does anyone else see the potential issue of over tightning the hose clamp ,and possibly crushing or deforming the oil filter ?
I'm just putting this out there cause you know someone is going to do it .

As long as a screwdriver is used, I don't think that will be an issue. Now if someone grabs their socket and ratchet............all bets are off.

You torque your oil filter just like me huh? Punch the screwdriver through and twist. I thought I was the only guy smart enough to do this...

On a side note, anyone wanna buy 2 never used K&N oil filters for SV650 or whatever Suzuki it'll fit. They are now officially dust collectors for me.
