    Default Lash "Donkey" Mullen

    Hey there folks,

I wanted to give you an update on Lash. All things considered he is doing pretty darn well. He has some serious injuries that will take time to heal but he is Lash, and he will heal. As I mentioned in my previous post, there is no major head, spinal or internal trauma. What I know so far from Merry is that he is in good spirits. His pain is being managed and he was able to sleep though the pain. He is a little loopy with all the pain and meds. He remembers the crash but doesn't remember some things after that. He lost a couple of fingers at the top joint. As his buddy Brett said "he'll be permanently throwing horns" with his right hand. He right leg received a lot of damage. He had another surgery today to clean it out further today and remove any more damaged tissue. All things considered it looks good and they will start prepping him, stretching skin for the skin grafts that will be needed. He did not break his femur much to the surprise of his Drs. From what I understand, he did break both of the bones in his lower leg. Good news is that he is able to move his foot and ankle even with all of the leg damage. They were worried that he would loose too much muscle, tendons, etc. but once again, Lash comes through. It is going to be a long road. I believe that he will be in ICU for a couple of weeks at least and beyond that I don't know the estimated schedule.

Merry is hanging in there and living the life as the wife of a racer. When I asked her on Sat what I could share she just gave me this look and said "that he's a donkey." She is a tough cookie.

Lash does have his phone and much to his dismay he is on the hospitals schedule and not his own. He is in ICU at Haborview but is allowed visitors. There are limited visiting hours. Visiting is closed between 2-4pm and 10pm-2am. I believe that it is room 928 but please confirm.

I'll update as I hear more. Please keep Lash and family in your thoughts and prayers. Aaand to wrap things up in true Lash style... He wants pictures or video... So, if any of you have pics or vids, give me a shout, email him, etc.

I'm going to be on the mainland on tomorrow for a meeting. I'm going to try to head to Seattle after that.

Not yet. I only knew what we heard Sat when we were there. Brandon is the contact for David and I haven't gotten an update yet. We are going to meet at HV tomorrow about 1:00. Hoping to see both of them and pass along the well wishes from everyone.
