Default Curbing and paint specs at The Ridge?

I haven't seen any pictures or heard any specs on the curbing or paint used. Does anyone have info on this? I posted a question on the track website as well.

Back when they first brought a bunch of us in for a review, Rod said they were using the same specs as Portland.

Let's hope the coping paint is the good stuff - I have a habit of finding that stuff.

if any of you are able to put a bug in Rod's ear...

Kieth DiBrino from OMRRA owns a paint company and makes a fantastic race track paint that has been used and well recieved by tracks...

I got an email from The Ridge management team yesterday about the curbing and paint. I've never actually seen track management anywhere act like they gave a rat's ass what bike racers think before, this is pretty cool. Here's the text:

"Troy, short answer here, but here are the basics.

Curbs are not "dragons teeth" design. They are smooth with a slight
uphill camber. Paint will be supplied from a Portland manufacture who
has managed to duplicate the FAI paint with traction modifiers. We
consulted extensively with WMMRA on the curb design.

Having said that, we will be reminding everyone, all the time in fact,
the the curbs are there to protect the edge of the asphalt. The Ridge
is 40 feet wide, so we poured the curbs as narrow as could be. There
will be not much, if any, advantage, to climbing up on the curbs. But
if you do, they will be safe.

    TRMG Team"

I thought the WMRRA folks (who haven't been involved with the track) would like to know that the TRMP management was taking bike safety into consideration when designing the curbing. This bodes very well for the future.

The Ridge team has been awesome in regards to racer, and club input about all things, safety and track design. Once Wmrra finally get hooked on the project, I think the club leadership found a very receptive host.

I first met Rod nearly 2 years ago. At that time he was looking for input to make The Ridge "motorcycle friendly" because it has always been a large part of the plan. He told me that hitting a wall in his car was expensive, but it didn't kill him.
I have said all along that what impressed me was not just that he asked questions, but he listened to what people had to say.
I'll leave the light on for ya!

Early on, Rod contacted, myself (Bruce Lind), Mike Sullivan and Allen Schwen about track safety for motorcycles. With over 100 years of combined experience and probably more than 100 different race tracks between us, we were very pleased by their concern and cooperation.
