Round 4 Race Report
I think the most memorable race of the weekend for me was the 750 super sport race in which, myself, Chris Sarbora, Arthur Cruz and Marcel Irnie had what some called the best race all season. I started in the back row (as usual…ahem Katie) and got off to a great start, thanks to racing in the WERA circuit where starts are all business. I managed to gain about 4 or 5 spots moving into turn three and settled into the pace. I picked off Cruz in turn 9 and proceeded to slip underneath Irnie as he ran a little wide in turn 2. Then…..there I was. I saw the red and white bike of the #262 machine of Chris friggin Sarbora. I decided then and there this was my time to put a little movesky on ol’ Sarbora. It was an exciting moment for me because Sarbora had always been “one of the fast guys” to me, and I looked up to his riding ability with a relatively large respect. As I was in a position to capitalize on his weakness into three (we’re still friends right Chris? lol) I couldn’t help but to grin from ear to ear. I just passed Chris Sarbora. Of course now I was gonna run for my effin life knowing that he wasn’t gonna take it lying down! I passed him in three, and he retook on the front stretch. I passed him in two, and again he repassed in the front stretch. I passed him in seven….again the front stretch. I passed him in the bus stop (very ballsy) and again that damn front stretch!! Then one more time in nine and then that god damn front stretch!!! Five passes and repasses in a ten lap race was absolutely the most fun and the most educational race I’ve ever been a part of. As for the rest of the races I did equally as well, fighting with Arthur Cruz (another one of my admired friends and “fast guys!!”) beating him the first race on Sunday and losing barely the second race where he capitalized on a false neutral into 4.
I would like to let everyone know that these races were a blast to race and I believe just as good to watch. I would like to give a shout out to Fuzzy and that motor he built for Sarbora cause that thing is damn fast! I would like to give some love to Arthur Cruz for not giving up and giving me hell that last race and taking home the win (on me) when I was all over him in every corner!:angry3: Great job Arthur! Thumbs up to Marcel Irnie for sticking with us the whole time. Applause to John Friesen for making it tough to get around you! Great Job!
Michellin Tires are the best shit since sliced bread and Rick at SB Motorsports (along with Paul) are some of the best guys in the business. Dave Alexander of Fluid Suspension Science is probably the smartest guy I know when it comes to suspension and every little suggestion he makes goes a very long way and has never steered me wrong! This race weekend belongs mainly to all my sponsors who don’t just give me the best equipment, but they also give me the knowledge that money could never buy.
Thanks guys! See you in Spokompton!
