This could be the reason why no one has a contract with SCMP- They may not be ready by their promised dates. Nice to know that they are undertaking improvements, but did they over-extend their fanciful wishes to be done by spring?
I'll gladly take the improvements over the race dates.

Te improvements under current construction do nothing to benifit motorcycle road racing.
All this is for concrete for the drag strip.
It will cause issue for us if it rains.
They have discussed a new layout for the road course which would be really cool.
But nothing is under construction for us at this time.
I have had no official commitments from SCMP at this time. I have been in contact and will continue to try to get some answers...

do we have a go no go date? Meaning by when does wmrra decide minus a conclusive answer, the 1st Spokane round is cancelled?
As the wera miller national is the same weekend I believe, something like that would be great to know. Thanks!

I'm looking forward to seeing work done on the proposed road course. Concrete work doesn't give me a warm-fuzzy.
I can't make Memorial weekend anyway, so hopefully by the time I do get to Spokompton, they'll have some m/c friendly changes made.
Yeah, the guys I talked to at the track said all the work being done was on the drag strip and the 1/4 mile oval. They are doing something on the bathrooms too, but I couldn't figure out what...
We do need a "go / no go" date.

Spoke with SCMP today.
I have been promised contracts (again) by SCMP.
They have stated that they will be operational for our Round 3 event in May.
I will communicate the official info as soon as I recieve it.
Holding my breath....

Thanks for all the work Alister - must be a little frustrating.
We could just race the oval...imagine the NASCAR style wrecks...we would need 2 miles of airfence

We did that back in the '80's. It was a lot of fun, but pretty hairy at times. The roundy round car guys don't seem to have much of an issue with oiling down the track, but oil and dry sweep on the banking is worse than Pacific in the snow. Don't ask me how I know.....

Hey all, just spent the morning up at the track going over curbing etc. I got them to use the FIM approved "negative" curbing that was used at Laguna on a few of the turns, should be pretty cool.
In addition to what Rick stated above, the bathrooms should be completely done in the next week. The showers are gone, they were REALLY bad.
They have thier first event in a week or so, they'll be done with the straight for sure by then.
It's amazing the amount of work that's gone into the place so far, simply amazing.
Why, sure it had a few issues but the fun outweighed them.
Don't get me wrong...I love the place!
I'm just saying I would be happy to sacrifice a race weekend in the name of track improvements. And while the concrete doesn't help us, the junk removal does. Best of all is that it demonstrates someone giving a schlitz about the track.
I just happened to have occasion to be out here this weekend (don't ask), so I took a few shots:

Nice shots. Hardly looks like Spokane without broken down cars, appliances and an EZ Up grave yard. :)
Yee Haw!!
I added a "fun" version with music.
