Anybody else seeing something really weird with the Novice Heat 2 results? It has a huge number of people listed as DNS, including me. The thing is I looked at the timing sheet after the race and my lap times were down for all 7 laps that I completed (I was lapped by the top 3 once).
Indeed -- noticed the same thing here. So I guess over half of us did not start? (DNS)??
-- Same as you, saw my lap times :( but just a DNS in the "Results" section for Sunday's race. Hmmm.

The posted results for Heat 2 show all the racers, but the times are copied from Heat 1. Maybe the dBComm didn't print out properly.
Maybe they will see this post and recheck the data and an updated printout will show up in a few days.
Hi Guys,
Just to let you know how the process works, the timing & scoring data from the dbcom system gets imported into a big registration & scoring database, then the results get generated from that database and passed on to me (webmaster, but not part of the t&s team), and then I put them up on the website.
It looks like there was a glitch Sunday in getting the data from the dbcom system to the database, and it is being investigated. Correct results for Sunday's novice heat may be available or they may not. I know you guys don't want to hear this, but the fact is that because novice results don't really count ("Novice heats are not races."), any time there is a problem with the system the novice results are less likely to get attention than the expert results where prize money and contingency money and season points are all dependent on the accuracy of the reported results.
Also, it's pretty normal for the opening round of the season to have a few issues as we all try to get back into the groove of doing our jobs, and I have to say that even with this issue of the novice results this year's opener came off better than average. The entire race day staff, scoring included, worked really hard and did a great job considering everything that has to happen for round one. Things generally get easier and smoother from here on out.
So try not to take it too hard if you don't get your correct results for Sunday. I know it seems really important right now, but trust me -- after you graduate and start racing expert classes and competing for real prizes, you'll look back and smile at how critical this all seemed at the moment. :)
But that doesn't mean we won't keep trying to get accurate results out for you as soon as possible.

Gotcha -- ...and yes, I too was amazed at how smooth everything went for an opening weekend -- you all (WMRRA Staff) run a top-notch organization -- my hat's (Helmet's) off to all of you!! Thanks again.

I understand our heats don't count like th Expert heats. All I care about is that even though I show as a DNS that heat was actually counted towards my 6 required heats as I did show and I did finish.
thanks all.

Yeah, I just want it to count. I sent out emails first thing this morning. I checked the score sheet at registration and saw my laptimes as well.
Good point I hadn't thought about. I'm sure Diane is already on top of that but I'll mention it to her just to make sure.

I also saw that I finished 17th on heat 1, and actually finished 6th. However, I know my dbcom had issues and did not get a reading on most laps. At least I know where I finished and that I finished...and without incident. Sure was a blast though, good to meet some of you. Got to meet tarheel on pre-grid. See you in May.

yeah.. great job! I think it's best that i don't see how i finished :-) .. but yeah.. i do want to know that it counted. Thanks for the hard work you put in... even for us novices - what a blast it was!
Ok, I pinged Diane (novice rep) about this and as I expected she has it under control. She wrote up a pretty informative message and asked me to post it in the New Racer Forum for her, but rather than burying it down at the bottom of this thread I thought it would be good to make it a sticky thread of its own so more novices will be likely to see it. You can read it here: http://www.wmrra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=866
