Anybody with an R6, how did you safety wire the front axle? Im not sure on the correct procedure for this. Also I really dont want to show up on the first day and not have everything i need wired. This is what i have... front and rear brake calipers, Oil drain plug, oil cap, dipstick, radiator cap, oil filter, rear axle. What else do I need?

If it's anything like the Gixxer, the axle is flush? I asked about this as well, and I was told to use a center-punch and drill a hole at an angle on the end of the axle. I was also told that just the right-side (when sitting on the bike) is needed. I can try and post a pic if that would be helpful?

You can see there's not much room for the hole and the safety-wire... you must be precise with a center-punch, then preferably a drill-press. Hope this helps!

Flush pinch bolts huh? Damn...no ideas here. If you don't get it all done or can't figure it out...go to the track day on Friday..Rick from SB Motorsports will do it for you right out of this trailer.

Good luck and see you this weekend.

Hey there.

I'm just another novice but figured I could help - don't forget your "muffler hanger brackets"! Did you get your brake link arm too? Hope it helps.

Yeah apparently that one isn't necessary. It is in our picture packet so I planned to do it, but ended up being completely unable to loosen the bolt at all (luckily, in a way). I searched the rule book and talked to a few racers and it isn't anywhere, so I guess it is for people whose mounting points are the link arm itself.

Using drilling jigs will help you a ton. MTE and lockhart have them. You can get nut drilling jigs, bolt jigs, and allen head jigs.
