The 2008 WMRRA Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, November 8 at the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue. This is the same venue as last year. Please mark your calendars. I am starting to work on the detail of the banquet and I would like a little input. I just received the menu options from the hotel. I of course want to make the banquet as affordable as possible since family members and teams also attend. The least expensive buffet option is the same as last year. Personally, I thought it was pretty good. What kind of impact, if any would it make on attendance if the meal was $3-8 more expensive than last year? Aprox $33-38 per person. I will also have a beverage only option. No, it will not be an all you can drink! It will be for coffee, tea and possibly soda.:)

I think we are going to have another great banquet this year as I am working with the same team at the hotel. I think we all learned a little something like we need more than 2 cases of Corona!:beerchug:

I will be posting the details for pre registration soon. Please pre register! I know racers like to register last minute but it is only fair to the hotel staff to give them a fairly accurate number so that they know what to prepare for.

Mark your calendars and let me know about the pricing and any other suggestions. This is your banquet and I want it to be great.

Thanks!!

$3 more yes, $8 more no, unless you post up the differences in menu increase vs cost increase. It was a lot of fun last year, the food was good (and so was the company).

Maybe have the beer not cost $50 a bottle (or whatever it was, it sure felt like that). But I'm not that much of a drinker anyways, so whatever's clever Trevor.

There are some different menu choices available and they are more expensive than what we paid last year. That particular menu is their least expensive. I thought it was good and so did a lot of people from what I heard. Thanks for the feedback, just trying to weigh things out.

As for the drink prices, I wish there was something I could do about them! They are what they are. So much of the pricing at a banquet has to do with the service and the venue and not the actual product.

Thanks for the input! :)

No worries. Keep steady, the banquet was fun enough last year that my wife enjoyed herself and wants to go again, as opposed to the 2003 banquet that ran on (and on and on) for something like 4 hours. This last one was great, and I expect nothing less from you for this year. I would actually be good with $8 more per head if the food was exponentially better, but it was pretty good even at the cheap price so I'm not too worried.

I'm with Phil - I could do $3 more but $8 seems like a bit much. I thought the food last year was good - especially considering it was a buffet!!

I'd pay $7.50 more for the banquet, if it is as good as last year but $8 and I will boycott!!!

I'll boycott if we let that Piper scum into the banquet again! :p
