A special thanks to those who helped orchestrate the wedding and the ride together on August 10th, 2008. Thank you to Art Nelson (Chaplin and biker dude), Allister MacKinnon, Jeff Wieand, Liz Chaffin, Brandi Wieand, all the cornerworkers, Eli Edwards, Mike Sullivan, Darrel Nice, Richard Engstrom, Matt Milne, Scott Lasher (Slasher Painting), Brandon Bones (Studio 819), John Cuthbertson, Chris (THEE RADIOMAN), the cornerworkers involved, and the Washington Motorcycle Road Race Association.
WMRRA has been a second family to me. Everyone is willing to help in different ways. We learn together, teach and help each other, support each other in times of good and unfortunately the bad. I just want everyone to know how much it meant for Amy and I to get married at the track. We both have a deep passion for riding and racing, and could not have thought of any other place we would rather be than at the track!
Just to let the others know, we were married in the pits between the riders meeting and the practice session. During the ride around at lunch time, Amy (my new wife) did not know that there would be additional riders on track. She just thought it would be the two of us. I wanted to suprise her by having us buzzed by racer friends of mine to give her a feel of what is like to race. The plan was, when Amy and I were 1/4 to 1/2 way around the track on the warm up lap, the others would launch out and pass us on the track. Eli Edwards, Mike Sullivan, Darrel Nice, and Richard Engstrom were the four riders who passed Amy and me on the track. I wanted to get the marriage off to an exhilerating start by being buzzed on the track by these guys. Everything went smoothly and everyone pulled through for a great experience for me and my new wife, Amy.
Thankyou!!
