I'm curious what the general schedule is like on endurance weekends? I understand the endurance race is Saturday. I intend to cornerwork Saturday and race Sunday to finish my novice requirements. Are there practices on Saturday? Any sprints on Saturday? Will novice still have two races that weekend?

There will be a discussion at the E-Board meeting on Wed. regarding the Endurance Race.

It will cover day and length of race as well as entry fees, etc.

Look for an up-date Thursday or Friday. As well as schedule posting to follow asap.

Thanks Jeff. I was just curious of the basics. In other words. saturday endurance, sunday heat races? Is this correct?

Sounds like it's Sunday endurance based on that other thread. Which means Saturday heats.... which really sucks because I had planned my schedule around the opposite, and now can't make it on Saturday.

So if I want to come corner work it will have to be on Saturday since all the novices that need to fulfill graduation requirement will be corner working Sunday and there won't be corner worker shortage, correct?

WHAT?!?!?!

Sprint races on Saturday and Endurance on Sunday?????

What for? I already scheduled the opposite because it has been the norm. My wife is gonna be PISSED! You guys are KILLING ME!!!!!!

Who does this goofy shit to the schedule? Must be the same people who scheduled the 2009 MotoGP Laguna round for the 4th of July!

Is there any reasonable explanation for doing this to us?

This "goofy shit" was scheduled by the Race Director. And he did it to try to give people more time with their families on a holiday weekend. There is a track day on Friday, sprints on Sat. If your aren't racing the endurance race you can salvage the rest of the weekend to be with your family.

I hope that is a good enough reason for you.

Actually, it had the opposite effect. If people are anything like me, they planned their holiday weekend several weeks ago around the dates that were available then - i.e. Endurance on Saturday.

The sudden change throws my plans out the window, and I'll probably have to miss the entire round now. :mad2:

This was my thinking. When I looked at the schedule last March, I assumed the endurance race would be on Saturday, like it usually is. So, I planned the weekend with the family around a Sunday sprint race. My wife and I had the weekend schedule set months ago. Now, 2 weeks before the race, I see that it is going to be changed from what we normally do. If we are going to change from the normal schedule, why not talk about it in March, instead of 2 weeks before the race???? That seems "goofy" to me....

I know it is a change fom previous years. There had not been a date scheduled yet this year for the endurance race. I'm sure Jeff will listen to concerns regarding the schedule. From my understanding that is what he was doing and tried not to take up the whole weekend with racing for those that are not doing the endurance race. Sorry that it doesn't work for you. Jeff has the best intentions and ALWAYS does his best to try to accomodate as many people as possible. :)

Man, I sure don't envy Jeff. Seems that no matter what he does, he gets razed for it. Remember the kerfuffle over running ss on saturday and sb on sunday? Now everybody thinks it's great. Personally, I don't care which day the endurance is on. When I make plans for racing I tell the family that that particular weekend is toast. If by chance I get to spend some extra time with them, bonus. If not, I'm not going to wine ( to go with your cheese, Angie ) about it.

Jeff, and all the staff, you're doing a great job. Thanks a bunch for all you do!!

FWIW, the sprint schedule that has now been posted looks great, particularly for me since I will be running 600SS, 600SBK, 750SS and 750SBK. There is plenty of time between races and practice and it's apparent to me Jeff gave this some thought. Thanks.

Just the rookie here, but from what I've observed I've developed the following tenants for racing:
1. All schedules are soft until you get the word at the Saturday morning riders meeting.
2. If a butterfly farts in China, expect the schedule to change without notice.
3. Brandi at Pit Gate is always in the know, bring her flowers and visit her often.
4. Racing is a weekend event, plan to be at the track the entire weekend. You'll never miss your race and you'll have a good time with your friends.

Kudos to Jeff and all the race staff for some how pulling off Round 4. Between oil spills, medevacs, and Pacific pulling an hour out of the Sat schedule, I was amazed that we got all the races in.
