I will keep this short for now so that I can post the pics of our Isle of Man trip with my commentary.
WOW!! Holy smoke! That trip was hands down the best trip ever!
My friend Bill took us for a tour of the whole Island and a lap of the TT Course (http://www.iomguide.com/mountain-circuit-map.php). He is a real ManxGP (http://www.manxgrandprix.org/) Racer (his Honda was in the back of the van) and he gave us the mile-by-mile 411 on lines, speeds, dangers, etc. The chief TT tech official introduced us to all the rockstars of Real Roads Racing that night at the trophy ceremony and party. Photo ops, chatting it up and beer, beer, beer. Ryan Farquhar (http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/nw200/riders/ryan_farquhar.shtml) even gave his "trophy-plaque" to vtxheidi. LOL.
Oh yeah, the racing at the Southern100 (http://www.southern100.com/results/2008/southern/08s100_index.htm) is friggan awesome. To be ten feet from bikes whizzing by at 190 mph...SWEET! Racing does not even "sound" the same there.
We were rock stars in our own right being the only Americans that were there for the race. We got the royal treatment and everyone was staring at us. We couldn't have even dreamed to have our trip be that great. Picture: You know how we see the people sitting on the rock walls watching the races and think they are crazy? That's me with Bill sitting on the rock wall. More to come...
