For those of you that have been racing for a few years, what brand do you use for your knee, elbow and shoulder pads? Seems the ones that come with Joe rocket stuff is really lame.
Are they hard plastic over soft foam or just soft foam? I see the Knox foam elbow/knee are CE, but doesn't seem like it would be much help if you land on your elbows or knees.

Yep, foam and a molded plastic, that's it. If it says it's CE approved than it's the same stuff that everyone else wears and you'll be fine; of course the other option is to not crash in the first place.. :) lots of the big name companies make full inner suits and add ons, just depends on how much cash you have to drop...alpinestar, dainese, tecknic etc etc.. Of course if you have a hard drop the armour helps but doesnt make you superman, but it's better than hitting the ground in jeans and a T-shirt... BOL
