Ok, too lazy to search...has there been any discussion on StompGrip? I find that I tend to hold on to the bars more and not use my legs. I wonder if I had some grip on the tank I would be able to to use my legs to hold on while taking corners. I really try to relax while taking corners and stay loose but since I am pint size I really have to use some more muscle than most.

Thoughts?

This is IMO a requirement to have on any track/race bike. I won't ride with out them. I also know that Freddy Spencers school recommends these as well.

Some people think they cause excessive wear on your leathers but after three years of running them, there is only a slight amount of scuffing on the insides of my knees. Having the extra grip is really helpful and stomp grips seem to be the most positive but there are other less aggressive choices out there as well.

At first I did not have them on the SV then I put them on there and what a difference it made. Where I really noticed it was coming down the hill into T3/4, my legs would grip the tank so much better and I could stay loose on the bars.

I don't have them on my 749 but am ordering some soon. I am a firm believer in them.

Amazingly all of the WERA weekends have been working weekends for me, so no racing this year yet. I have snuck in 3 track days, but no races. There is a WERA race weekend at Summit this weekend, however duty calls again! I am finding that this year might be a wash for racing. I might get in a race or two by the end of the year. This isn't a bad thing though, I have been improving each track day, so if I track it all this year and get better I might actually pull some decent times in racing! We shall see.

I carry the TechSpec product which is just as effective without the wear and tear on the leathers. Some leather manufacturers won't warranty their leathers if used with StompGrip. I try to gently persuade our riders to use the TechSpec product just to help out in this regard.

Let me know if you have any questions.

personally i love the TankTredz stuff! NOT abusive to the leathers like stomp, plus VERY tacky/helps sliding forward. IMO the tech stuff is pretty hard..but it works. The tank tredz is cool stuff and very thin. i think its about $40/set we have it in stock for some of the bikes.

I haven't seen the Tanktredz up close. I need to stop by your pits Eric and check it out. The new TechSpec is pretty thin stuff. It's called High Fusion. That is the product I sell. I have the older stuff on my 750 and the new High Fusion on my SV.

Hey Eric, if you let me feel yours, you can feel mine....:couch:
