I'm going down to MMP June 6-8 and have never been before. Since I don't want to look like a choad at a WERA National Challenge event, I'd like to get in as much track time as possible :)

Since the endurance race is 6 hours, I am not allowed to enter alone. I'd like to get one or two more guys together to get in on this thing.. three guys = 2 hours of track time for $100 (+ tires/fuel) each.

Also, since the race is 6 hours, we are not allowed to blatantly use the event as practice. Personally, I think it'd be pretty cool to actually try to compete and see how well we could finish. I don't expect to be legitimately competitive, but the whole endurance concept is pretty fun and I think once we're there we'd have a lot of fun doing it.

I would prefer to use someone else's bike (who wouldn't ), mostly because I'm a bit gun-shy after blowing up my Honda during OMRRA 600SB.. if I blow up this bike too then I'm SOL  However, if nobody ponies up a machine, we'll use mine.. whoever's bike we use, naturally if we bin it or otherwise damage it during the E-race, costs are split up and all that.. the usual.

If you will be at MMP on June 7, and think this is something you'd be remotely interested in, call me at 206 393 7984 or email me at chris (dot) sarbora (at) pnwridersracing (dot) com. The deadline is fast approaching, and key point is here I can't do this alone.. need a buddy!!

Chris,

Darrel and Myself will be down there but we are not doing the endurance race. Monday after WSBK is a track day, you can get all the practice you need!! Friday is mainly a practice day as well you will get plenty of track time in on that too.

Nico's crashes - 3 in 3 years.
Chris crashes - Too many to count in 2 years. :)

Why don't you ride the 750? 600's are no good for endurance anyway, because you've got to wring it's neck the whole time. It's easier to ride a higher HP bike for a long time (so long as it handles...). IMO :D

Oh this is the 750.. remember, the 600 blew up ;)

So wait... you're going down there. transporting a bike of some kind. And all you want is another rider? And it's the 750 that's currently on the table? hmmm...interesting...

So if it's your bike and you crash it then do I still have to pay half the fixing cost?

Haha yes, yes, yes, and we can work that out.. I'm not sure what the standard is.

All riders pay into a "repair fund" that is used to repair crash or racing damage only (or whatever is defined prior to turning a wheel on the track). All funds not used are split amongst all riders, or used to support the next endurance "repair fund". For example, we were setting up a team and we set the fund at $500 per rider. Spares were to be purchased/procured/supplied in advance with these funds, and if we didn't use the whole kitty, then we would purchase tires for the next race. We didn't race, but that was our plan when we started. This way the bike owner is not left holding the bag, and when everyone says "you break it you fix it", but the tranny goes, there are no pointed fingers and everyone supports the repair.

Sounds like a good way to do things!

See, every now and then I have a good idea.

Mark it on your calendar.

I'm as amenable as the next person to fixing ambiguous maladies like transmissions or brake pads... It's the rider error incident that I feel is unfairly shared in this scenario. If you get punked off the track by someone else that's one thing. Everybody fixes that bike. But if you're lapping in the clear and you lowside on corner exit due to excessive throttle then I think you should bear the burden of fixing said bike. The teammates shouldn't have to cover that. That's just crazy talk!

I'm guessing that's why you pick who is on your team carefully.

I've seen the 1k your fault fund work well... If you crash because of your fault and only your fault you pay for damages up to 1k, anything more than that the team chips in.

Just my 2 cents
