hey there guys, just wanted to let all you northwest racers know that American Supercamp has two 2-day schools scheduled for may5/6 and may 7/8. the schools do have a set maximum number of students. without going down to norcal or traveling to another somewhere in the country this is the closest one. if you've never thought you could learn anything about roadracing by dirt-tracking a crf100 think again. come on, who's going to come on out and play?

What is the cost? They are usually a little spendy.

cost for a two day school is $625 or $575 if you are a HRCA (honda rider's club of america) member. little hint, even if you don't own a honda you can buy an associate membership for less than the $50 i think. anyway, schools are two days, ride our bikes, crash our bikes, lunch included, cytomax sport drink, water, sodas, etc. even moto gear if you don't have it, head to toe. there is usually a group rate for rooms at a nearby hotel. think of it this way, if you save yourself one get off roadracing you probably made money. just one side of bodywork ain't cheap not to mention going on the mend yourself.

don't be fooled about what you'll get from supercamp because it's a "dirt school or flat track school". training with flat track based techniques helps any rider get the feel of sliding both ends of the bike into a corner. as a roadracer, if you want to be anywhere near the front you have to be able to scrub speed with the front. not exactly easy to just learn on a cbr1000. the haydens, bostroms, zemke, disalvo, spies, all have dirt track backgrounds. eboz just came to ride with us in so. cal., he's a busy guy, and doesn't do anything for no reason. chris carr is the confirmed quest instructor, he put a stinkin' harley VR1000 roadracer up front sometimes, and that lump was no superbike no matter what they call'd the bike. give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.

Unfortunately, I can't sacrifice a raceday for this. But I've been meaning to attend one of these for a while.
I there any way to do a single day? or are there any other dates in the Northwest (WA, OR, ID, BC) scheduled.?
Cheers

you can't do a single day, without going into a long list just trust us-it doesn' work out. actually it cheats a student more than anything. as far as northwest dates go- i heard rumor that this is our last trip to renton because the indoor riding area is going to become a harley dealer? but, even if it is true there are other options we are exploring in the area. we'll see which one works out best. a majority of students actually travel into schools. it seems timing is as important as location. if you're looking for sometime after the race season one of my favorite places is springfield, IL. i think it is in early Nov. indoors, heated, and the track is bitchin'. all the tracks are good though, there's a schedule on the website with a school in So. Cal. in the fall that exact dates TBA (another fav. track, huge) and if you're traveling there are block hotel room rates for every school which helps.

Now I'm Paid up too :) Looking forward to learning how to slide it like McCoy! I expect to be able to slide EXACTLY like McCoy after this training or I will be sorely disappointed ;)
