Lap timers

What is everyone using as far as lap timers at the track, and what and how many beacons do people usually bring. I found a good deal on a My-Chron Lite lap timer with Beacon - any comments or suggestions on this one, or will it interfere with anything anyone else is using?

I use a My-chron and have never any issues with it. Someone always puts a beacon up on race day so you really dont' need one.

Well i can get a used one w/ becon for like $125. I just wasn't sure if all the becons people bring only work with certain brands of lap timers. I guess if you have more becons you can do split timing as well?

Well it's a different beacon for doing splits. But the My-Chron and XT Beacons work together. Race weekends seems to be a My-Chron beacon and on NESBA days it's a XT and I have never had any issues.
