Hi,
Just wanting to pick a few brains here--
Not really sure which way to go with tires for novice racing. Currently have a decent set of race DOT's that have plenty of time left.
I also have a set of Michelin Rains--probably old (5-7 years old? Haven't been able to make out a date). Still in great shape, however I am thinking these are probably shot due to age. Yes?? No?? Good or bad??
Confused as to what would be best to have out on the track at pacific when track conditions might be wet (raining) , or slightly wet-drying.
My thought is to forget the rains, and get a set of regular street tires (such as Pilot Powers) mounted up and just use them when regular race DOT's won't work due to weather.
Any brand of street tire that is rated well for wet conditions?? (ie: well siped)
I do have a spare set of wheels to have 2 sets mounted up and ready to roll.
Not really one of the fast guys either.
Advice appreciated!
Thanks,
cj
