Hello, it’s Josh from Tigershark here, I just wanted to say hi and fill you guys in on some info. There is a lot of misinformation floating around and it seems to be the worst here in Washington.
Chuck and I are not getting out of the tire business! We are changing the way we do things, after the last few years of being everywhere at the same time we have come up with a plan to better take care of all our customers. We are moving into to distribution side of things and away from the retail/service business. We have appointed people in each of our geographic regions to handle sales and trackside support for that area. Chuck, myself, or both of us will be at EVERY WMRRA event this year. The same guys that were mounting your tires last year will be working for Tyson, mounting your tires. What this does, is free Chuck and I up to really help you guys out at the track. By not mounting your tires and collecting you money, it gives us all sorts of time to better help you out with bike setup, tire management etc. Mike will be doing all the local trackday service for us with a full range of product, and the whole crew will be up for any of the AF days that fall right before a race weekend.
As far as pricing goes, yes there has been a price increase; the tires went up about 10%. The dollar is weak against the euro and oil is expensive, have you checked the price of most everything else lately? It’s gone up more than that! We have always given you guys the best deal we can, and will continue to do so. There are ways to save money, we have Supercorsa Pros starting at around $300 a set, this is a great tire and is still in production. Get some buddies together and make a team, we will put you on a program. Buy in bulk, there is always a discount if you buy in volume. As far as the whole contingency thing goes, we wanted to give more guys a chance to win some money. We took money from the top couple spots and now paid back to 5th. I don’t see how this is a bad thing, it give more people a chance to get back some $$$ and most of the top couple guys have a tire deal anyway. We have a bunch of new product for 2008, a new 160 dot, new compounds, new constructions. As you may have seen in yesterdays Superstock race, Blake Young turned the fastest lap of the race on the last lap! At Daytona this is no easy feat, and speaks volumes of the improvements Pirelli makes each and every year.
If anyone has any questions please call or email me at 503-358-5704 or info@tigersharkracing.com (info@tigersharkracing.com)
I am more than happy to answer any and all questions you may have
