What does everyone think about tire warmers? A must have or a waste of money? What about brands? Good ones or bad ones, or bang for your buck...Thanks again

Needed, no, nice to have, yes, needed for novice no.
That being said, yes I had them fro my novice season, and loved knowing I coudl go into T2 hard and hot, all depends on how much $$ you want to throw at your first year racing.

Here is my opinion on them...Like anyone cares!
But I didn't have them my Novice Year, but I have had them ever since! I was told once that if I show up to the track, as a racer, just to screw around than I'm wasting my time, money and other's time! If I show up to the track and I know I have something to improve on which is always the case, if I have tire warmers I have 2 less laps of just circulating to get the tires up to temp!
On the other hand some would say that you need to be able to ride in any conditions, cold tires, semi-warm tires whatever!
I have had the same set for 3yrs.
Just my opinion.

The confidence factor of having tire warmers for me is enough to make them worth every penny. I run PD Warmers but they are out of business. I hear Chicken Hawks are top notch.

Luke, so are you for or against them? Not sure which way you we're going? Thanks Eric

Steve, thanks for the info and I am looking at CH's, but money as always will be a factor and I know that the TyrSox are a little money saving.

I'm totally for them! I love having them and they one of the first things I pack when I'm getting ready to go to the track!

Tire warmers, they're great :) they really help with traction on that run down pit lane to wait at the track entrance ;) Seriously though, I didn't use them on my novice year on DOTs, but since I've switched to slicks which are, well slick :D when cold. I use Tysox, local business and he does a pretty good deal for WMRRA members, Rick over at SB Motorsports stocks them on race day, not sure how they stack up to CH, Suzuka etc. though, but they heat tires up fine.
