YO, where do you ride ?? have you ever been up to stevens pass area, on the other side towards Plain ??
My grandparents have a "Cabin" there by the chiwawa river where we go and get sloshed, and ride pit bikes around in the snow. The place can sleep like 16 comfortably, and more with people on the floor :-)
let me know if you ever want to bring your sleds that way and you can crash and hang out there.... All i ask for is some seat time :-) I already have some dates reserved in January and February.

I've never sledded before, but I work with a bunch of guys that live for it like we do bikes. They head up to Shriver's Meadow pretty much any day off they get and pray for rain all the time (pisses me off).
Anyway to get to the point, these guys are all die hard Ski-Doo guys (X Package Summits) but apparently they just went up on Tuesday and there was a guy up there on a new Polaris that was the cat's ass. They said it was bone stock and yet had some insane performance.
Figured you'd might be interested in that eye-witness info for your new sled decision. Like I said, I wouldn't know, but that's just what I hear from these guys.

It's a good time to start! Buy my sled and I'll take you up and show you the basics!!! eh...eh...??? I'll even take you up for a test ride!
I was riding yesterday... It was DEEEP!!!
Shrivers is pretty flat for the most part. I usually ride Bearpaw mtn. on the back side of Widowmaker when the visability is good enough. i don't think I'll own anything BUT a Ski-Doo. The next sled is definately going to be a Rev chassis Ski-Doo.

I an not too sure that there is any such thing as insane performance from one stock sled to another. It's allot like sportbikes, every manufacturer has it's own ups and downs but they are all pretty good out of the box, and the 08 models are all VERY impressive. In the end, I think it comes down to the rider.
The owner of the saw-shop was up yesterday testing on an 08 ArticCat 800 that he had just installed a turbo in... he said he was running 13 pounds of boost all day and claiming some rediculous HP numbers... Either way, It would take some time to learn to ride a sled like that.
That is insane performance!!!
