I am trying to adjust my chain and the service manual is making it really confusing. Can anybody put it into easy words?

I got a 00' R6. It says in the service manual it needs to be 150mm. Do i measure horizontally from the drive sprocket to the rear sprocket? or do i measure from the ground to the swingarm while taking up the slack?

You want about 1 inch of slack with sombody sitting on it. Make your adjustments put sombody that weighs the same as you on it then move the chain up and down with your finger it should move about 1 inch.

If the bike is on a race stand, just lay over the seat and adjust it like that. Make sure you adjust the tension checking at the tightest section of the chain.

I Checked it at the middle of the chain on a race stand.
