Let's see a side view on that "after" pic! It looks to me like the pipe still got pretty torn up.

It's a peice of hose clamp and a length of high temp silicone tubing. That ain't no slider, you'd have more protection wrapping your can with duct tape.

Wat the f*ck ever.

Thank you for your responses.

Our Muffler Slider is not manufactured from high temp silicone tubing.

Silicone tubing is way to soft of a material to resist the wear associated with sliding across pavement.

Our Muffler Slider is made from a specially formulated polymer that was specifically developed for our application. It had to be hard enough to resist wear but flexible enough to mold to the shape of the muffler.

You are correct that the muffler in this picture was mildly scraped. The rider also informed me that if he had installed it on top of the rivets that there would have been zero damage.

You can find the complete development story on the wera site by searching muffler slider.

Here is a different shot of the muffler as requested.

From the photo...it appears to me that the muffler would have sustained much more damage if that slider had not been there. It also does appear that it may have been installed a bit to far back.

I think it may work, it's just ugly as hell. But for a racing application...who cares how it looks..as long as it works.

JMHO!

seems to me it's the same concept as a frame slider - no - the bike's not perfect after a crash but it's a hell of a lot better than it WOULD have been...tough crowd here!

One of my friends had one of these on his DRZ. Bad crash, muffler was spotless.

Good news.......I have located a clamp that has eliminated the 2 size confusion. 1 size now fits all Mufflers.

The Road racer of the R6 sent back a well tested model. This one was low sided 2 times at 65+ MPH and this is all the wear that the Muffler Slider sustained.

Looks like a great investment if you like having a pretty bike before and after a minor crash.
