How do I get race fees refunded? Sent an email saying I wouldn't be there please don't charge me. Apparently nobody reads email so I sent another one saying please refund my cc, and still no response. Please credit my cc $445 for the endurance race my team did not attend. Thank you, Stuart Johnson #619.

Apparently nobody RTFRB anymore.

Refund policy.

1. Riders must fill out a refund form and submit the receipt in order to obtain a refund, except: non-appearance of pre-entered riders will result in an automatic refund. If a rider is processed at registration they must fill out a refund form.
2. If a rider is processed at registration, but does not race, FULL REFUND except for the registration processing fee and any post entry fees.
3. If the machine(s) is entered in one or more classes and is ridden in practice but not in a race: the registration processing fee will apply. FULL REFUND of additional entries, except for post entry fees.
4. If the machine(s) is entered in more than one class and is ridden in a race: FULL REFUND of classes not ridden.
5. Refund requests must be received no later than 30 days following the event the request is for.
6. Refunds for canceled heats or reduced laps in a heat are not offered unless specifically authorized by the executive board.
7. Medic One Fee is non-refundable.

Read the rulebook and understand it. It is there to help.

If you still don't understand it, someone else will explain it.

and at this point there's a pretty hefty backlog on refunds.

Technically, if you don't pick up your paperwork, you don't get charged.

I can't believe that I care this late at night.

Man that endurance weekend was a total cluster.

What is your team name and whom did you send email to?

Endurance teams come from many different clubs. I know they should understand the rule book but if even our own guys can't understand/know our rule book how on earth can we expect people foreign to the club to have a clue?

Okay, we didn't show. So, according to the rule book we will get an automatic refund. I sent emails to the sec and tres.

How long is this going to take? It seems that it would have been easier to not charge at all since I did send emails two weeks before the event. I was trying to save wmrra the fees of charging and refunding, but that's cool, I'll be patient.

Thanks for the info. Stu

refunds are taking a long time to process right now - there are still people waiting on refunds from the '06 season.

No offense, but how is that fair to anyone? Is wmrra reimbursing for interest charges? And why is it taking that long?

Yeah - from '06, seriously? I don't wanna knock WMRRA staff, but there's gotta be a way to better set-up the procedure for a refund.

taylspin and tophyr, this is a matter best taken up with your rider reps.

No - If you didn't show you shouldn't have gotten charged. Did you really get charged, did money leave your account or show up as a transaction on your cc or did you just get a registration confirmation? Refunds can only happen with proof of money leaving your account. So if you erroneously got charged then unfortunately the onus will be on you to prove it to the Treasurer with some sort of a statement. Joan's a nice lady but an email saying you need some money back won't cut it.

Just my unofficial experienced opinion.

Race with CCS someday they make it so difficult to even request a refund that you don't bother.

If you're still waiting for a refund for 2006 I'd expect that to go through for you... never. 2006 was so last year. If I were you I would assume that you didn't fill out your request properly and it was round filed.

but again this is just my experience, your mileage may differ.

There's only one treasurer and 300+ racers - she doesn't only work on refunds. She's a busy woman and I'm not saying an email to her won't help 'cause I'm sure that flooding her email box really WON'T help but if it's a dire situation, you might drop her a line. Otherwise she'll get to it eventually, I assume.

I received an email from Debbie and she is aware of the problems that myself and few other endurance teams encountered.

Thank you to Debbie and Ariana for rectifying the situation. I'll look for the cc credit. Stuart Johnson #619

In case you have been living in a hole in the ground Shellie isn't the registrar anymore....and so far this year she seems to be doing her best to make sure she has no idea as to what is going on, by choice. :)
