I was not sure really were to write so I figured this would do, I met Keith Pinkstaff this year while racing with OMRRA. As a 1st year novice this season with WMRRA then showing up bymyself and nervous as hell I managed to make pretty much every mistake possible for my first OMRRA event,I got lost on my way to PIR,wrong line to enter the track, wrong line to register, wrong paper work for transponder rental, then managed to put the transponder on backwards and somehow sideways in the leather case. I then went out on the track and realized I didnt have any gloves on so I had to turn around and go back to my box van. Needless to say at this point I was feeling like a total moron (SQUID),as I pulled into my pits Keith happened to be walking by. I said something nervously then proceded to tell this man who I had never met everything I had managed to mess up from the get go that morning. He kinda chuckled and let me finish, as I was sitting there with my head down he proceded to give me some advice and assured me I was not the first Novice to make anyone of those mistakes, probably the first person to ever admit it to a stranger however. After he settled me down from thinking of retiring from road racing after a long 2 hour season and heading back to motocross he managed to get some laughs outta me and said if I ever needed anything just find him and he would help me out no problem. After that he was always a friendly hello and a quick wink that meant to me "dont worry antone I havent told anyone about your first day of OMRRA" And of course everytime I came off the track Keith also gave me the very popular while his head was shaking "Antone stay off your back break this isn't motocross!" I cant really say I knew him las long as all the other racers who have been in this great sport awhile, but from the man I met he was a stand up guy and one heck of a rider who really made me feel at home. He was a good man. Just my 2 cents..Rest In Peace Keith...antone #945
