I first want to thank Amber Rimes for helping fellow WMRRA members to get a discount at this week's Star School. My first experience on the track (and on my bike for that matter) was last Friday at AF. Thanks to Mario for an awesome, first-time experience.

I was able to get out of NRC with no problems (doesn't show it on the results but I got through). Then on to the first Novice race...great start for me in the second row but in T-5 decided to tap the rear brake (in the freakin' rain). Well, I think I will disconnect the rear break now :o . I was able to save it running off the track. Passed a few people the remainder of the race and finished (still doesn't show it correctly in the results).

Then I headed down to Jason Pridmore's Star School. That was amazing. I could do nothing but learn and get better. I was able to start knee dragging the first day!!! Watch out Burgess, I've got your number. ;) Anyways, I highly recommend Jason's School for someone at any level. Two-up with Jason was awesome too! I had the pleasure of following Danny Eslick around the track as well.

I have to say that I am looking forward to Sully's School...just wish it was earlier in the year (or before the season starts).

Just remember....dragging your kneee doesn't mean you are fast. I have short legs so if you ever see my knee on the ground...I'm hauling. :)

Note: The novice results will not show placement anymore. They are sorted by if you finished or not and then by number.

Totally agree but you obviously don't remember me then. I am probably 5" shorter than you!

I guess my memory is bad.

Glad you had a great time...I should have said this to start.

As to the DNF...its a little late but send the head scorer an email to try to get this to be fixed up. The technical process is you fill out a form and get a signature from another rider who knows where you finished. Then you submit that to scoring. I had to do that twice this past weekend. :(

I am short and do not touch my knee that much. Many do and many don't. It just depends on how you ride

I totally agree Gman. I hope I am not sounding like a squid with the whole knee thing. I was really emphasizing the fact that I was thrilled to be able to lean the bike over with confidence. I was using some take-offs and they stuck like glue. Amazing feeling coming into a corner knowing you can lean it in and stay on the throttle. I now need to gain some confidence at PR, especially getting the bike upright early so I can really get on the gas.

So glad you were able to come down to the school. everyone that comes is ussually amazed at how much there is to learn! You were doing great out there.

Are you going to make it to the Miller event...it's in two weeks!

If I don't see you at Miller good luck at the next WMRRA Event in May!

Hey Amber,
Great job at WERA. I am so impressed with how you smoke so many guys out there.

Thanks for the kind words...I had an incredible time at the Star School. I would love to go to Miller but unfortunately it wasn't in the budget for this month. Once I get settled from my initial outlay of cash to start racing I should be in a better position to hit a few more race schools.

Best of luck to you in WERA and CCS. Take care and hope to catch up soon.
