Hey all,
Looking for some help rebuilding the tire walls on 3/17 and 3/18. Chris
Denzler and I will be co-ordinating this effort.
The tire walls and the earthworks behind them are in very sad shape.
For your safety and mine we NEED to spend some time rebuilding.
Please contact me with any questions.
Hoping for a big showing to make sure that all the necessary repairs get
completed prior tio racing.
It could be YOUR ASS that gets saved so I hope to see YOUR ASS at the track
helping!!!!

What time are we needed? I don't think I can make it both days but I would like to throw in a helping hand if I can.

does this have to be a "dry" tire repair party - or can we bring a camelback full of beer ?

Mr Denzler said he would make sure there was plenty of liquid refreshments and it would be green in color. (St. Patrick's Day) I hope he means beer...

what tools, what time, how many people do you want?

9:00 AM both days
Please bring a shovel if you've got it (and keep an eye on it...)
and any hand tools you can easily transport.
Beer is strictly optional...
Anyone found to have consumed alcohol will be strictly forbidden from oeprating heavy machinery, power tools, aircraft, and tower cranes.
I'm not recommending a drunken work party, not recommending it at all...

I can make it one of the days, maybe both....

Well I won't be able to bring any hand tools cause I'll only have my motorcycle to ride down there with. But I'll bring gloves and be ready for some manual labor.

We only have one car and the motorhome. I ride my motorcycle full time, even in the snow (ok only when I come home from a General Membership meeting and its snowing outside and end up making some fresh tracks).

I will be there to pay respects to the wall before the season starts:) Plus, it sounds like a kick butt time to walk around the track.

I will be there at 9 on Sat. Can't do Sunday as we're heading to Hawaii.
Personally, I do think this should be eligible for the Novice volunteer duties though. Why wouldn't it be??? Volunteer work to benefit the track, WMRRA, etc.???

Bastard for going to Hawaii!
The rules state:
Participate in at least one WMRRA race day as part of the race day team (set up the track, tear down the track, or airfence) AND cornerwork for a minimum of ONE complete Race Day or Practice Day.
This isn't airfence nor is it a race day thing. So unless you can convince someone to change the rules after the rule committe meeting..... :D
But I agree with you.

Thanks Chris...I was counting on you quoting the rule book!:D I know that technically it's not menitoned, but think it should have some consideration...but that's just my whining!
I wouldn't want it to replace the corner working anyway as I'm already signed up for a day and looking forward to it!

Yeah I'm mr reliable with the rule book quotes. My main reason I do that is that the rulebook uses particular wording for very specific reasons (just look up the supersport rule on what you can do to forks). If you don't like it you are more than welcome to submit a rule book change towards the end of the season.
Um I guess you could also file a protest to allow the tire wall work to be included in the novice graduation race day volunteer requirement.
Section L.2 says
Any competitor may enter a protest against another entered competitor in the event in which both are entered, or against a decision made by the race organizers.
So you can protest the rule not allowing the tire wall work party to count. You'd be protesting the race organizers for this one. Sounds like a good idea to me. Do it man...you know you can! :)

My thoughts exactly. If I "disappear" during my lunch break, don't worry about me ;)

Oh - how about a foot race around the track at lunch time? (I'll score it - if I run that distance, there'd better be a defribulator waiting for me at the end!)

Whew! I can make that weekend. I was feeling guilty about not being able to make this weekend to pay homage to the tirewall.
