Hello,

I am hoping to get some feedback on 2Fast as a buddy and I are seriously considering registering for some of their riding school dates this year.

My friend heard that you have to go through a certain number (I think he said seven) of the school dates in order to apply for the wmrra racer school. Is this true? In looking over the new racer info on the wmrra page it seems like this may not be the case.

Any clarification, reviews, comments, advice, or help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

Attendance to 2-Fast schools are not requirements to get a WMRRA Novice license.

If you're interested in racing, check out:

See ya out there.

Not at all...

You don't need any performance school to enter WMRRA as a novice - you just need to either attend their NRC Track Day or take a performance riding school.

2-Fast puts on the best performance school in the NW. They are a great group of guys with great knowledge and it is always a good time, rain or shine!!

Thanks for the clarification. I'm sure we'll be out there on some of those days.

If you are planning on attending a 2-Fast day, make sure to pre-register on the website (http://www.2-fast.org). Last year, we sold out the events at least a month in advance and had waiting lists.

how is the march 21st day looking in terms of maximum attendance? I'm kind of hesitant to pre-register because of the weird weather this year (snow, ice, wind).

If you are going to race...might as well get used to riding in the rain, snow, hail, gusty winds, etc.....cause during last year's NRC track portion it started to hail on us. Not cool!

last rain day I ran I got a flat front tire going into T7....so I don't like the rain anymore haha but at least you don't get burned through the leather nearly as bad in the rain

hitting the hail coming down the hill into T3 was far more frightening.

+1 but worth the giggle when I saw the red flags/white sheet of ice on the track and thought "DUH"

In reading your question, I'm guessing you got a bit of information jumbled up.

Once you get your Novice license with WMRRA, you typically need to complete 6 novices races w/o crashing or major safety issues to graduate and obtain your expert license. That may be where you got mixed up on doing a certain # of events.

In order to get your Novice license with WMRRA, you need to complete the Classroom Portion of the NRC (New Riders Clinic) and then complete the track portion of the NRC. These two different portions occur on different dates. There is usually a Spring NRC and Summer NRC.

2Fast's School as well as Mike Sullivan's School, are both WMRRA race acredited schools. Which means, if you take either school, you can substitute the track time at the school for the Track Portion of the NRC. You will need to notify registration of this and turn in the proper certificates from each school to make this happen. I personally would suggest doing either one or both schools, and also the track portion of the NRC. The more experience you can get on the track along with teachings from the instructors at the schools and WMRRA racers at the NRC is extremely valuable.

Thanks for all the info guys. I ended up doing two of the 2-fast days this year and also just got back from the Kevin Schwantz Suzuki School at Road Atlanta(broke the bank for that one, but it was worth it), where I was able to get my knees down for the first time and even won an award for most improved rider. 2-fast was a blast, I can't wait for next season. I learned a ton at the school and the instructors were great. Now that I'm dragging knee, I've got to get one of those videos made by Galen too! Thanks for a great start to my track riding experience.

so we'll see you in Novice in '08? Be sure to stop by the booth at the International Moto Show first weekend of December and sign up - get a low novice number!! :)

Nah, get a mid number. The low numbers have a curse which makes you test the run-off area a lot. j/k

I don't think I'll have the dough to race novice next year. We'll see, it sounds like fun.
