For sale, 2005 Ducati 749 Dark with 6,895 miles for $7,800 OBO.

I hate to sell this bike especially after looking at these pictures, but if someone is interested I would be willing to part with it. Price right now is $7,800 OBO. Reason for selling is to raise funds for next race season, and I have a bike of much lower value that I plan to race. Here is some more details.

'05 749 Dark
6,895 miles
6,000 mile service done and all paper work is available
Changed oil often and I am using Redline Synthetic for the last 2 changes
Added a STM Slipper Clutch with new clutch plates and vented cover at 6,200 miles (This clutch new costs over $1,000)
Excellent mechanical condition
Body work is NOT perfect it has scratches from minor lay down.

WA title in hand. Bike was purchased with salvage title caused by minor lay down damage. It has been repaired and inspected by Washington State Patrol and is now licensed in WA. Tabs are good through August 2007.

NADA #'s for the 749 Dark are:
Low Retail $7,280
Average Retail $9,580

BTW, 2006 was the last year for the 749. As I understand it Ducati will no longer make a middle class superbike.

So the bike DOES have an R title correct? Or does it still need to be inspected?

The bike has been inspected, has a standard WA title, and has WA licencse plate. I took the plate off because I would have covered it for the photos anyway.

Maybe that isn't the frame? but it looks like it will bend and fall apart to me.. IMO the exoskeleton look makes it looks kinda homemade, but everyone has their own opinions on the style of a bike.
I have never driven one. But, everyone says they're great! With a price tag new you could buy a car off the lot with, it better be.. and this is going for $7800? I'd Imagine its not going to be for sale for much longer.

That is the frame. Its a Ducati...even their MotoGP bike uses a trellus frame (lookie there I mispelled it).

I had a deposit on this bike, but the deal still ended up falling through. The guy still wants the bike, but needs to get his money together.

In the meantime, if anyone is interested make me an offer.

I am interested in this bike, i was sent a link from another forum about it. If i am to choose this bike, would you be willing to have it inddependantly inspected by a Ducati Dealer?

As well, i am located in Toronto Canada, the bike will have to be shipped here.

e-mail me or private message me: rapter@sympatico.ca

Are you interested in selling the STM slipper? If so, email me mark_buchmann[at]hotmail.com

A guy is supposed to buy this bike on the 5th. Another guy already has dibs on the STM if this deal falls through.
Thanks for asking and I will let you know if things fall through.

Hey snake, where did you get the mirrors from? Those are Ducati Performance pieces correct? Do you have part nos.?

Yes they are Ducati Performance and I got them from section8superbikes.com.

They are a lot cheaper made than the OEM ones on the new 1098. I can't find the part number, but they cost $70 each. To order with Section 8 you need to just call them the online never worked good for me.
