Ok...So I am really disliking the brake lever "feel" of my 06 GSXR 600. The stopping power is good, but again, I dont personally like the feel of the lever.

I was at the track yesterday (Portland) and noticed a few things others were doing on 600/750's.

1. Some had the Brembo, but this takes you out of running Superstock classes.
2. The other thing I saw was guys running a older (I think 99 GSXR) master cylinder.

Both of these were the lever feel I am looking for. I guess the question I have is, has anyone else heard or seen of using the older master cylinder, and would the older master cylinder be supersport legal for WMRRA/OMRRA?

Thanks for any help.

To be supersport legal in WMRRA, using the current rules, you have to run the same year and model oem master cylinder that was shipped with your bikes.

This means no back dating nor switching to a different brand.

Yeah that is what I was reading in the rule book also. Is it even being thought of to being changed for 07?

Actually no. Brad Gua submitted a rule change proposal to specifically allow back dating brake calipers in SS but your problem is the master cylinder. Nico submitted a rule change to allow forward dating of OEM parts in SS but I suspect the master cylinder isn't going to change until at least 2008.

So...I guess find some different brake pads you like, try the stock lines instead of braided lines or something else within the rules.

Or not worry about it and let someone protest you for 23rd place. Who cares.

Where do it say this? I looked in the rules and nothing is said about back dating or ? Not trying to start a war, just interested. And you used to be able to update your older bike with newer model stuff and I can't see that rule anymore?

Section P.5.r -
Updating or backdating a motorcycle is not allowed without special approval of the race director.

No problem. I had actually search for it cause I didn't see it the first couple of times I scanned for it.

CBRmania, are you saying that you don't like the feel of the "radial" style brake masters? maybe something is wrong with your setup? cause all things equal the radial setup is usually head and shoulders above a conventional. They do have more play at rest but, the feedback/control while riding should be much better.
