Isn't it exciting to watch the world championship unfold this year?

We have the honor of wathching the greatest racer of all time chasing the championship as an underdog...

If Vale wins I'm going to build a bronze idol in his likeness and have weekly services...

The racing has been so great this year at that level that I've even been able to persuede otherwise anti-racing people to not only watch, but get excited about it!

At Philip Island there was one lap in the rain where The Doctor passed a total of five people in one lap! And one pass was John Hopkins and KR Jr. at the same time! That's no small feat. My roommate was next to me (NO clue about racing at all) saying, "Holy crap, this guy is a friggin' stud!"

Wait, I am reading this correctly. Go Rossi? There is an American leading the points and everyone's rooting for a cocky Italian. If Rossi takes the championship, the terrorists win...

I dont know where to watch it :( what channel?

geddyt
09-22-2006, 07:50 PM
Speedchannel replays the races on Two Wheel Tuesdays, from what I've heard, but the best coverage is on motogp.com (http://www.motogp.com). It only costs like $36 for the entire season (so less of a good deal at this point) and you get complete access to everything: interviews, practice session videos, highlight clips, full race coverage, etc. The picture is understandably crappy becuase it's a live internet feed, but definitely watchable--good enough to see Rossi and Capirossi touch a few races back.

As an Italian, I will always root for the "cocky" Italian. :D

Plus, I care for Nicky. He doesn't make racing exciting to watch in the least.

dude chill out, you can end any sentance with "then the terrorists win" and make it sound like your making a point that you are not.

yeah yeah, I am totally about the hayden's like most americans (just chill and let the peeps like who they like)

somehow I just cant root for pedrosa, rossi I dont care too much for, hopkins I want to make a podium someday and edwards seems to have gone retarded (austailia race, him not coming in for the rain tires earlier)

I'm just kidding man (I'm pretty sure terrorists have nothing to do with MotoGP).

Don't get me wrong, Rossi's an amazing rider but watching Nicky take Laguna was awesome. He's worked his ass off for the last few years and deserves some credit.

For me I'm torn. I've never really been a #69 fan but I find myself rooting for him. On the other side of the coin I think its hard not to root for the G.O.A.T.(Rossi)

Amen Brother!!! Screw Rossi...been on top for too long....I hope the Kentucky Kid kicks his ass!!!

And if I was to pull for an Italian..it would be Loris Capirosi. He won today by the way...again...

Boohooo. Poor Nicky.

Maybe he should become a better racer if he wants to unseat Rossi...

Rossi has been on top so long because, well he is the G.O.A.T...and that's what they do, win championships. :D

Darkside
09-25-2006, 08:32 AM
, well he is the G.O.A.T..

That to me is the stupidest term even when they started using for carmichael.

Greatest
of
all
time

For those that didn't know....Unless the sport stopped to exist today then he could be called that. However since it won't I don't think you can say that. Is Rossi good, hell yes but this is much like in Football saying that the Steelers of the 70's where better than the 49's of the 80's...is crazy..they are all good or even great for THEIR time. Period.

Hypnotiq
09-25-2006, 08:52 AM
Newsflash...it's been around since before Ricky. ;)

Rossi hasn't just won...he has dominated pretty much since he put his legs over a motorcycle.

To be the greatest, you have to transcend the sport you're in...IMHO Rossi has.

I also root for Hayden to win, he seems to be a nice guy, and have an excellent work ethic. he is undoubtedly one of the greatest riders on the track.

But,

the Sets incedent aside, I think it would have been a run away championship if Vale had not had 4 DNF's due to no fault of his own. The fact that he is zeroing in on another championship is amazing.

He is the GOAT, in great company like, Mike the bike, Giacomo, King Kenny, Freddie, Eddie, Wayne, Kevin, Mick I do not know but I think he would have played them...

Look at the grid in a current Moto GP. How many WORLD CHAMP's are on the grid?

Loris,
Danny,
Kenny JR,
Marco,
Edwards,

did I miss any?

Its an amazing time to be a fan.

It's just too easy to be a Rossi fan....I'm sticking with Nicky and Loris! Rossi's gonna go drive F1 anyway. Don't cry Nico...it'll be okay. hehe

I love Loris, but recently learned he aint no nice guy...

Punted his teamate in order to win a championship. They way I was told he needed his teamate to DNF in order to win, so he punted him.

Aprilia promptly FIRED world champ Loris...

That sucks!! I thought he was a pretty nice guy...Okay then...Screw Loris and Rossi! :D hehe Seriously...you can't help but like or should I say respect Rossi, even if you really hate him. But I will always pull for the American racers. I can't help it...I have that Extreme Patriot Gene!!

Wow, looks like Garry McCoy is going to be back on the GP grid for Portugal. That's interesting. He won there in 2000. Of course, it could also be interesting if we get a pool going on whether he or Casey Stoner crashes first...

Gary will be on the 800cc Ilmor bike though. Really he is just getting some race pace testing for the team's assault on MotoGP next year.

Great to see the King of Slide back in action though :D

Aw man, looking good so far: Hayden and Pedrosa both ahead of Rossi after FP2. But Capirossi is lookin' pretty good. I hope it's not another runaway. How about Troy Bayliss 8th fastest on his first day back!?

Hypnotiq
10-27-2006, 11:24 AM
Im not terribly concerned. Rossi knows all he has to do is finish ahead of Hayden, which he can do, easily. Practice and racing has little to no correlation as to what will happen on race day. :D

He doesn't even have to do that. All he has to do is finish one place behind Hayden and he wins. And we know he can at least follow Hayden around....

Rossi is generally never the fastest during practice nor in qualifing. I think it bores him. :) But serously I think he's just looking for the proper settings before pushing that last little bit out.
