I put on a fresh set of Alpinestars knee sliders before the Spokane weekend and after two practice sessions had to swap knees. After one race, the left knee was 2/3 of the way gone. I always get the hard compound and they usually last about half the season. I spoke with the vendor I got them from and they said Alpinestars is only offering one compound now. Anyone else experienced this? Along those lines, anyone have some true hard compound sliders for sale?
I realize most people don't slide a knee all the way through a turn but that's my ganglatron style.

pull your knee up, it will save you the cost of sliders. :)

I also put on a new pair of Alpinestars this last weekend (just for Sunday practice and two races) and nearly completely wore through them. Very dissapointing!

So were you ever able to confirm that those white marks in turn 2 was from your knee sliders?

Cant remember where i was reading it but i know they make ceramic sliders. Think it might be spidi. I guess google search ceramic sliders, there suppose to last a long time but give off a horrible sound, guess it would freak the corner workers :D

Teknic makes the only plastic/ceramic sliders I am awared of. They are heavier than standard sliders but they last forever.
I have a friend who goes through sliders like crazy, and he swears by leather sliders as the long-lasting solution.
-tim, still working on the original sliders which came with my leathers.

I am on my second set of Teknic knee sliders. I make them last longer by switching knees, and flipping them upsidedown.

SiDi makes them as well as Joe Rocket.

I just went to Klucky sliders from Dainese - much much better wear rate. A comparison was done a few years ago where all sliders were tested side by side - Klucky came out as the best for feel and longevity. They are Delrin I believe. I haven't tried leather myself...
