Can anyone chime in and let me know if it's possible to be watched on the track and get signed off BEFORE doing corner work and air fence? I herd Shellie just wants everything signed, but i wasn't sure if someone will watch/sign me off for the track without the corner work signed first. My Plan is to graduate on Saturday and work the corners on Sunday when the new novices go out :-)

I asked Diana about this as I want to get my lap times down before I gradute (mid 1:47's at Pacific ain't gonna cut it in 600SS).

She said that once you hand it to the Race Director (Joel) that you never see that piece of paper again. Meaning you need to do the corner working and what not first.

So I would get ahold of the air fence coordinator (Brandon Knowles I believe stepped up for this) and get your name in to set it up for this coming weekend. Then work corners on Saturday (Get ahold of Liz ahead of time so she knows to put your name down). Then just run the race on Sunday while getting observed. It will be a wave start (we're looking at 50+ novices still) and you'll be in the first wave. Around lap 4 you may or may not start passing the second wave guys but I don't know what your problem is with new novices. We were there once. :)

I had no problem doing exactly what you are trying to do Andrew - I had Joel watch me (after having done the airfence - and then did the cornerworking the next week. No problem for me.

I think i know what you're thinking.. but I'm trying to get my moneys worth of track time, as a novice you get a lot more practice on saturday than sunday, so I would like to race on that day, and since the new novices will be out on sunday, the grid will be PACKED, so why not corner work that day.

capice ?

I don't have a problem with New Novices, but if i had to choose, I would spend my $75 on 2 practices instead of 1, and be on the track with less people. I don't know... makes sense to me.
