Ok well after giving it a lot of thought I have decided I would part with my 2006 R6s. I bought this bike from a friend of mine this last fall with the intentions of racing it this next year... But with the lack of time I will have this next year I think I am going to part with her. So first off I want to say I am very anal about buying the best parts and building stuff that’s the best I can afford, with that being said here is a list of what I have done to the bike so far. Please keep in mind that ALL these parts are brand new and have never seen the track/road!!! The Bike has 7k miles on it

I started off by changing the plugs and switching to a full synthetic Oil
Then Added a BMC Race Air Filter, Brand New PC3, M4 High mount Exhaust, Front Vesrah Pads, I had the wheels re-powder coated gloss black, Brand new pilot tires, 520 conversion with one tooth down in the front and two teeth up in the back, Fresh brake fluid flush to race fluid, and New Grips!!! Like I said ALL the parts I added are new and I still have the boxes/receipts for them.

The Bike will also come with all the stock plastics, they are kind of rough but all the tabs are in place. I do NOT have the race glass for it!!!

I also pulled the ignition and wired it over to the engine kill switch for convenience (and yes I still have the ignition with the key, so no the bike is not hot!!!)and switched it over to GP Shift

I am willing to trade if you have something I want!!! I would consider a snowmobile preferably Polaris RMK, because that’s what I will be using the money for anyways...
I am not too sure what to ask for this bike because I know there are a lot of nice bikes on here that are ready to race, but I know how nice this bike is and how little needs to be done to race/track... So I am willing to sell the bike as it sits with all the street parts included, or take off all the aftermarket race parts I just put on... Your choice... Please make me a fair reasonable offer if interested, as I will not post an asking price! I want as much as I can get while still remaining reasonable!!!!! Thanks for looking and keep the shiny side up...

I am also not willing to part this bike out, unless the the bike sells first. So please don't ask me to sell any parts at this time...

Okay, there are no rules regarding price on this forum. If a member wants to offer a bike for sale by taking offers, that is their prerogative. If anyone can find the "forum rules" that are mentioned twice in this thread, please provide a link so that we can all read them and abide. If you simply want to harass a seller, don't use the tactic of appealing to a "higher power," i.e.: "the rules." The lack of rules does not allow anarchy, it simply provides a forum that is dependent upon the honor system for fair play.

Sorry for the threadjack and good luck with the sale, that does look like a nice bike for a new racer. Do you have the title?

for what it's worth.. If I were selling that bike I would probably sell it for about $2.5k to 3k as it sits..

what's the dealio with that shift linkage? I think its suppose to look more like this:

I might be mistaken, but don't 2005+ R6's have inverted forks?

It's an "S" model, basically '05 motor and '04 chassis. They sold them through '09, I think.

I am no Yami expert but I still agree with the above.

I am no Yami expert but I still agree with the above.

It's very common for R6 owners to revert back to the '03/'04 non-upside down forks as the '05 were apparently TOO stiff and didn't offer the same amount of feedback. Looks like the owner of this bike has done that mod.

2005 there was no R6S, just the R6, in '06 they offered both models but from '06 to current the R6S has come with the non-USD forks.

First and foremost... Thank You PSCOOK!!!!!! I want to start by saying I am not trying to be a Richard, but my title does not read 2006 R6s PARTING OUT!!! I, in no way implied that I would sell any parts of my bike before the bike itself sells... It bothers me greatly when I see someone post a bike up for sale and then everybody tries to get the parts from them. If you want parts, go pay retail like we all did unless the title reads (Race Parts)... with that being said, and off my chest... I do not have the title to this frame. I bought it Bill of sale only so that’s what I can do... BUT I do have another frame that I bought as a Salvage Title that I would be willing to swap. I just haven’t had the time yet. So however you would prefer I can accommodate! Here is the LOW down... I paid $3200 for the bike completely stock. I bought it from a close friend who was in need of some cash! I have sense the put about $800 into the bike. The bike is in amazing condition... I have no reason to miss lead someone. I have a few other bikes as well and you can ask anyone who knows me... I don’t need the money and I am a fair guy! This is why I wanted to make someone a good deal on a NEVER raced or STUNTED bike... Yes WEIG17... A bike like this should go for about $3k!!! But let’s remember that’s prob a bike that has been down more than a few times and put through the ringer. There is a value for cleanness! AND this bike is Super clean!!! I have a wife and two beautiful kids, plus an amazing job... I would never get on a rat raced broken down miss handled bike and come out of corners at 100mph+ You can trust this bike...

98navi1970 Is correct. I did bend the shift linkage to go around the frame to convert to GP Shift... That’s the only way I ride and the 2006 R6s was a bit of a challenge... Nothing like my 2011 R1!!!

To be clear... Yamaha sold the 2006 R6s model through 2009, It is the same bike as 2003-2005, although through the years they made some slight changes to improve handling, and power. I love this bike and it must have been a great bike for Yamaha because they decided to keep it around for 3 years after they launched the 2006 R6r model!!! Most guys who race this bike on this forum seem to love the overall bike. Now don’t get me wrong... it’s not a 2012 R6! But it would work amazingly well for anyone who wants to get into racing!!! There is very little left to do to the bike... and hell if you live in my area I would even be willing to help you finish and complete it... I just don’t have the time to travel to Seattle or Portland to race every weekend... Once again thanks for looking and remember
I AM EXCEPTING OFFERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rofl::lmao::rofl::withstupid:

I can vouch for some of this. My previous exhaust and a new PCIII are on the bike for sale. Joe was great to work with and I'd have no hesitation buying something from him.

FWIW, the '06+ R6s is nearly the same as the 03-04 R6. The '05 model has unique forks, front brakes, rear suspension linkage, and some other little items as well. It also got larger throttle bodies and other engine changes that are unique to the '05 model. If I had to estimate, with the same rider on an '05 I would expect the lap times around Pacific to be about 0.1 second different from the R6s. Maybe better, maybe worse.

If you do end up parting the bike out, I may be interested in picking up the front end. But hopefully you can find a buyer for the whole bike. Bummer you won't be out on the bike this season. GLWS

not to be a dick or anything but as your bike sits its worth about 1500-2000 on a good day

1st: no title! (yes you have another frame but its salvaged)
2ed: you can get a mint R6s right now anywhere for under 2700 and thats with clean plastics and low miles.
3rd. i will give you 1200 cash money when ever you want to part with it.

sorry for the bluntness but im just goin off of whats out there and there is a lot better for less.

just gotta look is all... they are out there and parting out a bike right now will net you more money then selling it out right. the no title is killin it for ya man and i understand its a little harsh for me to say some of the stuff i said all im sayin is what i have witnessed in the market lately a downward trend and all the bikes priced right are flyin off the market and i do wish ya the best of luck sellin it all i am sayin is ya might wanna keep lookin around and adjust your price. i just sold my 2005 raven R6 with clean fairings and clean title plus countless mods for $2500 and it lasted a total of 5 hours before it was sold.

I did some looking around this am and I think I am just going to part the bike out, I do understand that not having a title is screwing me over! I also know I just put over a grand into the thing. All the stuff is new on it and doesn’t meet replaced any time soon! I am willing to take the bike back to stock and let it go for $2500 with the new tires and wheels, or I will take $3250 cash for everything I have related to my R6... If I can’t get that for it I will just have to part it out to get what I want... So if anyone is interested in the main parts like swing arm or motor please pm me and we can talk. And raven... No hard feelings man...

I think at those numbers you list above, you are right in the zone to attract buyers. To be honest, anything above $3400ish would be excessive IMO for the entire package BUT, as we all know, it's worth what someone will pay for it so no harm in starting high and working your way down right?

For comparison, I have a similar model bike (different year but exactly the same). I'm into it right now for $3,900 or so with all of the upgrades like $1000 in suspension just being done this week, brand new painted bodywork, Ohlins damper, brand new Titanium full Ti Force exhaust, PC-3, spares, rearsets, new windscreen, and some Fuzimoto lovin'.

It's not for sale, I just bought it but if I were to list it, I'd like to think the $3500 range is where I'd start taking into account over $1500 in upgrades from what you have on your bike and none of them have even been used yet.

Good luck with the sale - the season is getting started soon and us racers aren't known for our steadfast will when negotiating for a new race bike(except maybe PSCook!) - it'll sell.
