Has anyone used or heard anything, good/bad, about Amsoil's new stuff? My best friend has just become a dealer and obviously he thinks it's the best stuff ever made.
He wants me to try their full synthetic 10/40 Motorcycle Oil.
Anybody know anything???

Cool....he is now telling me that I will not have to change it as often. He is getting an oil tester and wants to see how long it will actually last. I told him he can rebuild my motor when we are done!!
Thanks for the feedback.

Tarheel - if he is providing testing of the oil, that will give you clues to how your engine is holding up. They usually test for such things as blow-by gases, bearing material, and other metals that would indicate transmission wear. If he really wants to convince you, and others of the superiority of Amsoil - he should let you run several brands, and provide the comparative testing following each oil change...

No matter what oil is cheap insurance for your bike. I run 1 track day and 1 race weekend then change the oil. Yeah running Redline is not cheap but then again neither is an engine rebuild. must my .02 worth

I would send that oil out for analysis to see really how often you need to change it. No reason to throw money down the drain. Blackstone Labs will do the analysis for around $20.

Chris I understand what you are saying but then again I change my street bike oil about every 1500 and I know I don't need to do that either but peice of mind is a wonderful thing.

hee-hee...you are starting to sound like another buddy of mine who changes the oil on his car every 3500 miles or every 6months. I tell him he's wasting his money but he doesn't care.
FYI: From my VFR (on the street) using Amsoil's synthic the analysis indicated I could get between 6-8k miles between oil changes.
