I recently purchased a Subaru Robin generator, a 3200 watt inverter (quiet one for $1700). I went to fire it up for the first time and the damn thing would not start:( I took it apart, trying to find out what was wrong with it and couldn't. Jason from 2-Fast was nice enough to take the time to look at it with me, and no luck there.
The motor portion works fine, but the generator part probably has a bad relay and regulator. I found that out after calling Wisconsin Industrial on Monday. It appears there has been an existing problem with relays on that model generator. I have had a hard time getting the run around getting warranty work done in this area. There's only one shop in Spokane that can get it fixed, and that guy is 4-5 weeks out before even looking at it.
I would not recommend Subaru Robin brand for this area for purchasing. They won't even offer to ship me a new one even though the one I received is a lemon. If you are looking for generators, I would stick with the Honda's or Yamaha!!!! Better reliability and service for this area.

P.S. Thanks a lot Jason for taking you time to help!!!!

I run the eu2000i Honda generators. They are pretty bullet proof and incredibly reliable. You can also get a parallel port cable to tie two of them together in case you need 4000W for an RV, etc.
