So since I dont know anyone on other forums, I thought I'd ask here... why are some really fast guys without rides next year for ama? Particularly Jake Holden and JD Beach? JD seemed to be winning a ton of races in supersport last year, and he's still without a ride/team... Please be more elaborate than 'economy.'

Any other rides/racers talk you can add too. Just trying to start conversation. Hope you guys are all doing good!

Who knows, politics maybe? On the WERA board there was a thread with John Ulrich bitching about how Hopper mislead him about his hand/wrist but didn't once mention how well Holden did for him filling in. Is it just me or does the AMA seem like a big sewing circle?

Ummmm

Maybe you should go re-read that thread.

#1 - JU has a very real and valid complaint.
#2 - He actually made a rather nice compliment towards Jake.

*edit*

Ill save you the trouble.
I paid Holden for substituting. He did a great job and was a pleasure to work with.

Didnt see that, sometimes its a bit tough churning though all the other comments on there. I offically stand corrected.

Also, I agree with you that he had a valid gripe. Hopper was totally in the wrong and maybe 'bitching' was a strong choice of words. I just take issue with a team owner airing laundry on a web forum. Just seems unprofessional to me. But I suppose he could just air it in his magazine...Then it would be professional...

I'm also not debating the fact that JU has done a ton for American roadracing (the RRW Action Fund is a great example), I'm just talking about his involvment in the thread on WERA. Just wanted to get that in there.

Others actively looking for rides and/or have yet to announce their official plans for next year include:

Jake Zemke
Aaron Yates
Brett McCormick
Bobby Fong
Eric Bostrom
Jamie Hacking

I applaud JU for revealing Hopper as the douche that he is. The guys done nothing but fail to live up to the hype by wasting his talent and other people's resources by drinking and/or crashing it all away...

Anyone know Eli and Oli's plans for next year - same as this year?

If you read the thread John said he said it because he was asked a direct question and looking back now he wouldn't have said anything

I have to disagree with this a bit. Perhaps yes Hopper was misleading regarding his wrist but come on look at the history. First year in MotoGP was the last year the 500s were allowed to race and he still made top 10 placings.

Then an underpower Suzuki, and lastly an extreamly underpowered Kawi.

Moves to World Superbike and has a stretch of bad crashes and thus he has to play down how much his wrist really is messed up.

If you had a choice, would you say "Well J.U. thank you for the ride but I will not be able to live up to your expectations this season as my wrist is really sore."?

Personally I believe that Hopkins competed at the time of the HIGHEST skilled riders in MotoGP history as the bikes had as much if not more HP and far less electronics to correct for rider error. Hopkins is still a talent.

Nico, I wasnt really referring to the hopper thread on the wera forum, Then again maybe you were replying to Rich Meyers comment? :) I was more just curious why some of the guys you REALLY expect to be locked down, arent locked down. Either way, really shocked that some of these guys are without rides. Where did the rockwell performance team go? Just 100% dismantle?

Thanks for the chatter.

Burgess, i hope you get a full ride this year :) Maybe in Germany when you move?

Only if they get back to me...if only to tell me thanks but no thanks. I dislike limbo.

I have a new (to me) R6 and 250 in my garage and will be riding the SV again..
Pretty excited to start nipping at the heels of some of the WMRRA legends this season... I have a personal goal of consistent 1:28s on the 600 this season and want to be giving Eric Featherstone a run for his money on the SV....
lofty goals... but not completely out of the picture.

Hopefully you'll be more successful than you were against last years goal.
