anyone else watch the race sunday? that was some intense action...if you missed it here is one of the highlights.

It was one of the, if not the best ama race I've ever watched. in the rain...the drama, the skill, the saved highsides, it was amazing.

couldn't agree more...not that herrin is an angel, but it was just uncalled for. You could tell he wasn't racing for the championship but for herrin.

still though that was an amazing race...I jumped in my seat a couple times at the saved highsides...

I love Danny....Herrin's the dumb arse who put himself on his lid.
Herrin wanted the same piece of asphalt that Danny already HAD and Herrin didn’t back off, no he just kept coming into the turn on the outside and that's not once but twice and IMO hit the side of Danny. I had to laugh when Danny looked over at him as he went deep and what do you know, Herrin still came over for the hit.
Right or wrong.....Herrin didn't learn a damn thing.

We never lost respect for Rossi.

Is it dirty when Eslick does it? and cunning when Rossi does it?

lonelyAngels
09-28-2010, 02:00 PM
my problem isn't so much about eslick's moves, but the fact he wasn't racing to win the championship.

It's one thing to stuff a guy or block a guy because you're both racing for the championship, but eslick was racing solely against herrin and that I have a problem with.

Than his actions aren't so much aggressive racing as much as they are spiteful. that's my .02 cents anyway.

Mr Sunshine
09-28-2010, 02:14 PM
I do agree the race was fantastic.

There many moves over a course of multiple races that caused me not like Eslick anymore. It wasn't a single incident. With Rossi...he had a couple of incidents but not with a single person nor with the apparent vindictiveness that Eslick seemed to show.

I mean come on...you are braking into the hardest braking zones on the track and you do a head check looking away from the turn and then stuffing Herrin off the track? That's BS. The final BS was taking Herrin out.

So the issue is how much it happened, not that it did happen.

odin544
09-28-2010, 02:29 PM
I tend to agree with Ken. Herrin went in fast and broke late and ran wide. When he came back in he and Eslick collided. Whether that was intentional or not I think Herrin put himself in that position.

As far as Eslick not racing for the championship, seriously? Herrin wasnt going to win it so what the hell was he doing?

lonelyAngels
09-28-2010, 03:36 PM
Eslick gave up position several times during the race to block herrin...or maybe I'm just weak minded and the fact that it was pointed out several times during the race that eslick was racing herrin and not for position stuck in my head lol

You are only focusing on the incident that put Herrin down. There were many other moves before that.

If the incident that put Herrin down happened without the other moves from this weekend and previous weekends, then yeah...that's racing. But that's not what happened.

Edit: Ah...you really need to see both races from this past weekend. There's more to it than that one pass.

That makes sense. If you had watched it, it's really obvious eslick is racing to screw with herrin. Before Seller high sided and the restart I think eslick was all the way to 5th or 6th all because he kept checking herrin up.

If you can watch the race it was seriously a fantastic race with some amazing skill displayed.

And herrin was dumb to keep coming into that corner wide lol...I was kind of pulling for seller but he bit it pretty hard.

Eslick is the man IMO and Herrin is a VERY highly skilled kid who should take a lot away from this past season and come back stronger than ever.

If you're going to call Danny out on what happened in the highlights of Sundays race than at least know EVERYTHING that lead up to it before you pass judgment.

Do you know that during qualifying Herrin went back out on track after he set pole and conveniently blocked Danny while he was on his qualifying lap which subsequently ended in Danny crashing?

This has been brewing for the entire year and it's only Herrin that has issue with Danny - watch the press conference and you'll see that Cardenas and Danny are practically best friends yet they raced closer and more fiercely than anyone else over the past 2 years. They have a mutual respect and that translates into balls out racing but not dangerous racing IMO.

http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=42148

As for the Rossi comparison - Rossi had a MASSIVE vendetta against Sete and that lasted for two-three years and spilled over into fisticuffs on their way into a press conference with Sete getting the worst of it and the same for Rossi and Biaggi. It'll happen with anyone who challenges Valentino - ask Casey...

Danny did the look over and I think that was more of a "why the hell do you keep leaving the door open and then lean on me into this corner?" kinda look - not the cocky FU look that some take it as.

Either way that race was still the second best race of the weekend - for those of you that like that kind of racing but 110% faster - look up last weekend World Super Sport race and watch Sofuoglu and Laverty ride 600's like nobody's business - by far the best race of the year and almost on par with Bayliss VS Edwards from '92 I believe.

I was aware of all those things leading up to this weekend, but again, I'm not calling Eslick out on the way he raced (ok I did think the head turn was pushing it lol, but I see your point). I'm calling him out because he let the "feud" between him and herrin get in the way of racing to win. I think if Eslick had his head screwed on straight Sat and Sun he would be running the number 1 plate again.

If I were Danny's sponsor I'd be like why the hell did you let Herrin dictate how you raced...or I might be thanking him for making the ratings shoot up lol

The part I think you are wrong on is that only Josh has a problem with Danny, I think there is a strong mutual dislike...and Danny calling Josh's dad a bitch on television...well...I lol'd

Do you have any links to the world super sport race? My google skills are failing me.

high? are you kidding? I've been clean for 3 weeks and 2 days thanks to the lawd! praise yeee jesus!

k let me rephrase my opinion because everyone seems to get butt hurt by saying he wasn't racing for the championship...

first anyone who didn't watch both races..stfu...:twofinger: (i'm kidding i'm kidding ;) )

second maybe he was interested in winning when herrin wasn't trying pass him.

however whenever herrin tried to pass him at any point in the race danny gave up position(s) multiple times in the race just to block herrin....lame

call it anything you want, but bottom line eslick was more interested in ruining herrin's day than anything else...but that's my opinion and we all know what opinions are like.

Herrin was acting like a bitch on Dannys qualifying run. This shit has been going on all year between these two.

My favorite two quotes from Danny this weekend were:
"Bring it on bitch" during the podium interview.
"If he's gonna act like an idiot, he'll be treated like one." in an interview after the race.

To say Danny wasn't racing to win is silly. He is the reigning #1 plate holder and winning it again means more to the guy than simply fucking with Herrin. That was just a added bonus. ;)

I concede the quotes were good for the drama factor lol

of course neither of us can get into danny's head to know what he was thinking, but after watching this drama culminate in this weekend's races, as a spectator I don't know how you could walk away and say danny wasn't distracted by herrin during that race.

I know this...I was not sure what series was going to have the best racing this year (for N America) mid season it was a dead heat between Moto2 and DSB - but DSB flat blew any other series away for tight racing this year! :beerchug:

FYI Herrin is not generally respected by quite a few of the AMA riders. He sure can ride though. I really like Danny after being around his team while we dropping off fuel - back in the bad ol AMA days he really lives it, and is kind of a throw back with his attitude, he should have been born 10 years ago!

I didnt get to watch that yet. I'll watch it and let you know though. Hopefully tonight. I dont cling to Rossi's nuts though. I think he is an awesome rider but even great riders can lose peoples respect.

As far as Herrin being to blame too, maybe his previous actions contributed to all of it happening in the first place. But Herrin acted professional in front of the cameras during the races I watched last night. Eslick was far from that. Those races were all Eslick. Herrin didnt slow down once to block Eslick or try to punt him. Eslick gave up positions just to block Herrin. I think it was Westby even waved Herrin by when he didnt need to. I think that was probably because he saw the bullshit that happened.

Westby waved Herrin by because he wasn't fighting for the #1 plate that weekend, Herrin was.

Herrin tried the same pass that Danny had been doing, Danny came under him, Herrin doesnt wanna give in, Herrin crashes.

If there was such 'wrong doing' don't you think there would have been an AMA investigation, riders DQ'd, etc?

Exactly...
