What the heck was everyone running on during sundays races?! I've been looking everywhere for them but i can't seem to find them. I know there were a lot of Michelin's and Pirelli's but i can't figure out what kind? Any help would be great, thanks!

Do you mean the tires with all the grooves and cool tread patterns ?
If so they are full wets or rain tires. Just go talk to the tire vendors they will hook you and your bike up. They're all good people
Nicolas07 -- they are tough to find online (the full-rains) -- I think it's the price that would keep most from buying them, but they really are worth it. Like Musselman said, the local tire vendors have them at the track on race days (track-days too). I never thought they'd be that amazing until I tried them... although keep in mind that the track surface itself has days when it's much slicker than others, rain or no rain -- last Sunday was a good example of a really slick wet day.

Thanks, i couldn't find them online anywhere. But i'll ask the tire guys next time. Thanks!
If you don't want to wait until the next race weekend to talk to them, phone numbers for all the trackside tire vendors are on the contingency page -- http://www.wmrra.com/contingency.html

I'm going to second that statement. I have been on rains 3 or 4 times now and have found them to grip like crazy. However last race was crazy slick. I felt fine untill I hit T7 with a lap left :D.

During he 600SB race I was running a Michelin Full Rain Front and a Med/Soft Rain Rear....man was that an AWESOME combo to have during that race!
I could've gone a lot faster than I did!

You'd be able to go faster if you didnt have those ugly yellow leathers holding you back!

Don't hate the leathers...everyone secretly loves them!
And yes at least the Michelin's have different softness of rain tires.

Ya the knobbie like tread pattern is soft. The liney one is medium/soft. Rick seems to always recommend soft front and med/soft rear.
