Spokane - Truths and Rumors

Good Morning Everyone -

I normally wouldn't really jump in on the Spokane conversations that are taking place.

But there is a lot of things being said, and I know people probably want to know what is going on.
I can tell you that Spokane is in receivership, and is still operating under the supervision of the court appointed receiver.
WMRRA's attorney is involved, and is in contact with the receiver to make sure that WMRRA's best interest's are taken into account. In other words making sure that our dates are still going to take place this season.

What I and no one else knows is what will happen with Spokane in the future. This will be decided by the court. And I don't know when the next court date is.

So if you were worried about us not racing in Spokane at the end of this month, no need to worry. We are set to go.

I have another question about the Spokane weekend. A lot of us are coming from the West side of the mountains and I am personally taking Friday off to get over there and beat the traffic, are we allowed to camp at the track as we are at Pacific and are we allowed to camp there on Friday night?

I'm not sure yet, I'm ironing that out in the track use agreement! I don't see why those who want to camp wouldn't be able to. I'll keep everyone posted via this thread!

I don't know. As I understand it, if it is to take place someone would have to obtain the proper insurance and set it up through the receiver.

And no that will NOT be WMRRA!

I just called Spokane Raceway and talked to the guy that is always there...I forget his name. He said that the Friday track day is on. Just passing on what he said. Im going up Thursday night. I hope the gate is open on Fri.

Same plan for me. Going up Thursday night for the Track Day on Firday.Otherwise I guess my wife and I will have some fun shopping in Spokane.

Who is all going up? Any chance of me hookin up with someone for a ride, or mearly a spot for my bike ? Me and my team are trying to work out a scheduling/ride conundrum and if I and/or my bike can hitch a ride from the seattle area i think that chould solve a lot of problems.

I have a friend who e-mailed Tony at SRP. Here's the response he got:

I saw Tony this past Monday out at SRP. He in fact will have the track open on Friday. The cost will be $150 for the day. Apparently he has insurance to cover the day.

So what's the final word on the practice day, I've seen here that Tony say's it's on, yet I've heard from others that according to the courts, Tony isn't in a position to make that decision :confused:
I have a friend who's a street rider who was planning on coming out for the track day & it's a long drive from Seattle.
I was planning on heading out for Thursday as well and taking my dirt bike just in case the track day isn't happening. If I remember right there's a dirt track just up the street, any other good off-road areas around spokane??

i also herd something, but i don't think it's "racing" i think the track MAY still be open on Friday and Saturday ... kind of like a track day. don't quote me, but i herd it from someone that is pretty "in the loop" as well.

Your source whoever they ARE, better realize that there is NO RACING this weekend. I have CANCELED the WMRRA Event.
If anyone hears rumors such as this, I'd appreciate if you'd send me mail or PM rather that start a whole new RUMOR mill on a public forum!
