I posted a nice courtesy note on the PNWriders forums so that people would know that there is a track day coming up... and look what happened:

Dear weig17,

You have received an infraction at PNW Riders.

Reason: Advertising
-------
Your Track Time thread about Adrenaline Freaks was removed because we dont allow advertising or promoting of businesses on the site unless you are a Site Sponsor.

The bandwidth bill on this place is crazy and advertising is the only way we can recoup on some of that, so we want to be fair to the current site sponsors who do pay for advertising.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks,
Daniel
-------

This infraction is worth 10 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

Adrenaline Freaks (http://www.adrenalinefreaks.com/) will be hosting a trackday prior to every WMRRA round held at Pacific Raceways this season. (as they have in the past)

The first date is April 2nd and I hope to see some of you guys out there. I am sure most of the racers will be there shakin' off the dust, but it would be great to see a few new trackday riders come out and play as well.

Adrenaline Freaks (http://www.adrenalinefreaks.com/) is a well run and safe operation that provides 3 different levels of riding groups based on your experience and comfort level. Control riders and instructors will be on track to help teach you a few things if you would like as well as to make sure that reckless riders are not out there doing things that are putting others in harm's way.

If you are new to the track, I HIGHLY encourage you to have the courage to ask a control rider for some one on one attention. There is no better way to get faster and better than to train with someone who is better than you are.

Hope to see a bunch of you on the 2nd of April ! http://pnwriders.com/images/smilies/mytruck.gif

All the best,
PNW Riders

NOTE- Adrenaline Freaks had nothing to do with me posting that.. I posted the same thing for my T hill tradkday with Pacific tracktime a few weeks ago.. not a peep out of anyone for that one...

I am glad that i gave 8 years of my life to the air force so that my freedom of speech could be taken away and edited by a bunch of uppity ups on the PNW Forums...

GRRRR! alright I am getting off my soapbox now..

dude PNW SUCKS! I posted up some pics of my own R1 and it was pulled for advertising cause one pic showed an edr etched case cover! then Corie that works for me posted personally, a set of boots she had and they yanked it too cause 'she works for a shop" not too mention the mods let the 12 year 250 ninja jerk offs run wild on there. I deleted all my pnw accounts...fxxk them! You cant even post up WMRRA/OMRRA stuff, we could not post CHARITY event for Childrens Run, etc.. REALLY sad. They ONLY care about $$$ 100% on that site.

FXXX PNW!

In their defense, I will say that it's their playground, so you should play by their rules. However. You don't have to be a doink to get your point across. Vote with your pocketbooks, or fingers, as it were.

It may be their playground, but it is no different than a "roll call" thread. And you will see those all year long.

I completely agree. That's why I said (but wasn't clear) that they didn't need to be a-holes about it. But, they were, so there you go. Maybe we should bum-rush the next roll call thread and claim that they are "advertising."

You know its funny. i'm part of a site who's bandwidth usage and server usage is 10x PNWRiders yet there is complaning about the cost of bandwidth. People donate here and there but the site owner basically just pays for it out of his pocket because he likes the community. Even turned down a $100k buy out from the company that bought sites like sportbike.ws

the advertising rules is a real joke over there sometimes

during the freezing weather months i offered up some easy advice and was giving out free info on how to either
a. prevent
b. cheaply fix
frozen plumbing

somebody complained and the thread got yanked

i had zero info about my company's info or any form of contacting me other than through their pm's
in which they could easily monitor if i was trying to do some backdoor advertising

then i was given the same spiel and bs tim was......i wont answer anyones pm's or help anyone on that site unless its actual people i personaly know....and those people usually just call me if they have questions

that place is all about the money......its getting to the point where you cant honestly do a "good deed" without getting your peepee slapped

i just started a "roll call" thread

flame all you want

Dude, if I had any idea that you were a plumber, or that there was an actual plumber from WMRRA, you would have had a nice little job last weekend. File that little tidbit away...

That makes more sense. I thought I remembered seeing it two years running. Screw 'em if they don't want free advice.

Phil, next time post up before(if you can) and we might be able to help you out. But don't call me when your furnace goes out:pokestick:

This is why we need a resource list for wmrra.

I would rather pay a wmrra racer than someone I do not know to do a job for me.

It seems that all to often after having to pay for services rendered that I find out that a wmrra member could have done it and in most cases cheaper due to our club affiliation.

Time for a resource list?

Sounds good to me. Finding ways to keep the money in the family, so to speak, is great.

I'd be more than willing to put up my info if "allowed"

I dont check this site nearly as often as I should.....but with my impending novice season starting right around the corner...i feel i will be doing so more now

I know there is atleast one electrician and I've met a general contractor once or twice.
Probably be a good little list to have local "friendly" folks to use for atleast advice and or services.

Unfortunatley its in my companies rules/guidlines to not offer any type of discounted rates for anyone who is faster than me :twofinger:
so i doubt there would be anyone on here that would benefit from such discounts....but i'm more than willing to "help" out

edit: i would also like to note that i have not met any hvac tradesman that are worth a damn from here.....just sayin

Tell your boss his guide lines suck, and he's a dick.

I'll second the comment about the A/C guys.

Gimme a good contact for a heat pump, if you can. We are going to need one as ours is ready to collapse on itself after operating for almost 30 years and being neglected by yours truly. PM is cool.

Do you know how big it is?
Package or Split?
Brand preference?
Price preference?(that one might be ovious)

Nope.
Don't understand, I assume heat pump and air handler? Air handler still works, but it should be looked at.
None.
Yes. :D

You answered question 2 even though you didn' know it:D
If you have a heat pump and an air handler, that is a split system. If your heat pump(outside) has ductwork coming directly off of it, that is a "package" unit.

Call me tomorrow and I can tell you what to look for to help in getting a more accurate price.

Wow, I was wondering who got dinged for the AF thread. As a former moderator of PNWRiders, I have to tend to agree with the general premise of this thread. Things have gone downhill over the last few years, and as much as I'd like to see Daniel continue to succeed, his public image is slipping.
